'' By the way, you better fucking hurry up, I will be having my sleep now, to forget I ever met with the disgusting like of you, humans. Any puny ant still here by the time I wake up will be forever locked in the castle with me'' The lord of the castle said before disappearing without making a sound like he was the air itself. Making many wonder why the divinities made it more human than most of them.
''hell no…. how are we going to find a fourth member?'' Alice question the two boys, looking frustrated.
''I don't know, I actually don't have a lot of friends, and even if I did the divinities killed all of them'' James sighed frustrated making Max and Alice also let out a sigh.
''Even if we do, will it be someone we can trust'' Max questioned the two, exchanging glances before sighing deeply.
''Let's… split up, the such would be easily that way'' Alice suggested and with an approving nod from the boys, they went on their separate ways to search for the fourth member.
As soon as Max turned around, he found a man his height standing alone. With a deep breath, he made his way to him.
'' hello''
''fuck off boy I already have a group''
''sorry, I am looking for strong-looking men''
''ops! Already taken''
''You are too young; I don't trust boys''
''Can you even fight, you look weak''
''sorry, I am looking for only women''
''sorry, I am looking for only men''.
There was no luck, each person Max asked gave the same excuse or was already part of a complete group. He began to feel pissed at the many annoying excuses he was getting from people and gave up.
" You too," Alice appeared beside Max, letting out a long sigh. "I agree with the lord of the castle. We all should have just burned; humans are unbearable," she added after her long, unpaused sigh.
''You know what, yeah'' Max smirked with a slight frown as he agreed with Alice.
They both had a short laugh before an awkward silence appeared.
'' Fucking hell. I have never been alone with him/her before'' They both thought while trying to bring up a shared conversation. They only now realized James was their common link of conversation.
Alice glanced at Max before speaking. "I'm sorry…if I made things awkward," she said, looking away from Max with a sad expression.
''...you didn't make it awkward…. its only natural, after all…. we just became friends'' Max smiled at Alice, making her smile in return.
''triple Max'' James called out as he arrived with good news.
Beside him stood a tall girl, the same height as Max, dressed in blue jeans that accentuated her figure and a beautifully designed blue top that highlighted her medium bosom. Her long hair was a peach color, and she had striking light red eyes. She wore round glasses and had an attractive appearance, radiating an infectious energy of excitement.
'' I found…. the fourth member and you won't believe who she is'' James excitedly pointed at the tall girl beside her.
'' hello there, that guy I saved and cute little girl, you fellows can call me Emily'' Emily spoke without a break, she was more carefree than the three would have assumed.
''Thanks for saving me'' Max immediately thanked her, if it wasn't for her he wouldn't be here today the least he could do was thank her.
Emily stared at Max with her eyes narrowed, making her glasses seem ineffective '' there is no need to thank me, I did what anyone would do ''
'' Do… you actually want to become our fourth member'' Alice looked up at Emily with half a smile.
Suddenly Emily's red eyes lit up as she strode towards Alice with a slight grin '' don't worry cute girl, your team would be the best for me''
''My name…. is Alice'' She smiled finding Emily interesting.
Emily smiled at her before calling her by her name, she then shifted her gaze to Max, asking for his name with a grin, Max was taken aback by her easygoing attitude but answered her either way.
''So, James, Max, and Alice, I hear by, declare myself as your fourth member, please take care of me'' She smirked, looking delighted to the puzzlement of the others.
''Ting! Ting!''
'' Those skills are incredible'' Max gushed over Emily's skills as though they were a pile of gold. He found it interesting and powerful looking, making him dream of opening new skills soon.
''fuck, can she read my mind right now '' Max slowly glanced at Emily, his thought betraying his expression. Emily wasn't focused on him; she seemed to be in her own world making Max let out a sigh.
''Before we name our group, might I ask your thoughts on our Gods '' Emily casually asked, her arm crossed as she awaited their answers.
''It may just be that our Gods are weak'' James spoke after thoroughly thinking about his answer. Emily's eyes narrowed as she heard his answer.
Alex's expression was contorted unusually as she thought, she looked angry and bothered yet calm at the same time. '' They just want to see us suffer'' she answered, looking relieved afterward.
'' And you'' Emily shifted her gaze to Max, nudging the side of her glasses as she did so
Max retracted his gaze from the three as he rubbed the back of his neck, his mouth slowly split apart to answer the question imposed on him '' the Gods and the divinities seem to be working together''.
After carefully listening to the ramblings of the lord of the castle, Max made a certain connection between the divinities and the Gods.
Max knew the gods were aware of the divinities' invasion, they even gave them some limitations, which was further proof the two were in some sort of cooperation. As to why the gods didn't just outright prevent the invasion he didn't know but he knew it wasn't because they were weak.
Also, the lord of the castle referred to the gods as kind-hearted, meaning, they are not doing this for some sick entertainment, there is something special the God and Divinities are looking for. Max deeply thought, his brows furrowed in the process.
'' James, I hardly doubt the Gods are weak, if so, then they wouldn't have given a bunch of limitations to the divinities'' Emily said smoothly nudging her glass while Max nodded in agreement.
''But then why didn't they do anything while many people were dying'' James almost yelled as a visible frown was expressed on his face, that was a new sight for Alice.
Emily calmly glanced at him before answering '' as Max said they might as well be working together, and some people dying was part of the deal, and Alice, Gods who make a lot of rules to prevent many from dying is not interested in the suffering of mankind'' she ended with a soft smile.
The visible frown on James was quickly replaced by a bright smile'' Whatever the case, we will still avenge the dead'' he glanced at Max and Alice who smiled back at him.
'' I suggest this group be called the Fantastic Four'' Emily yelled with both hands in the air like she was proclaiming something profound and thought-provoking.
'' we don't want to get sued'' James looked at the others before they all began to laugh loudly.
'' what about the four musketeers'' she suggested again putting the three in a laughing fit.
''That's even more terrible than before'' James spoke with difficulty as he held back his laughter
''than what about- ''
''No!!!'' the three blurted out in unison.
'' My naming skills are amazing; you guys just can't see it '' she smiled before joining them in their laughter.
After calming down they all began to brainstorm a name, seconds turned into minutes as no results were provided. It was just too tricky to come up with a perfectly sounding name that would best fit them.
'' God damn it, Divine players'' Emily brought up her final and last suggestion, she looked exhausted after saying what she had to.
''That's it'' they all thought, they thanked the heaven she managed to bring one that was much better than what they thought of.
'' Do…. we all agree on the name'' Alice asked looking brighter than before.
'' yes'' the others said, the relief could be felt in the air.
''Ting! Ting!''
< Game completed: team Divine players formed>
For whatever reason the four were astonished to see that.
