Setting: Outdoor shopping area. Jade's perspective. She continues to watch Wendy's fight. Wendy had just defeated two bots and had one left to fight. That is, until two more virus-infected bots run in her direction.
Jade: "About time. Let's see if she can handle them without her friends."
Jade quickly flashes back to when she saw the man in the trench coat (who turned out to be a faceless) walking towards the clothing store.
Jade: "But what was with that guy in the coat? Why wasn't he running? Maybe curiosity got the best of him?"
She hunches her shoulders and continues to watch Wendy's fight.
Jade: "Eh, not my business."
Page 2
Shift to Iris and Chase's perspective. Chase continues to keep an eye on Wendy with x-ray vision. Iris flails her arms up and down.
Iris: "I wanna see Wendy kick butt, too! No fair!"
Chase: "Hold on. We gotta stay hidden unless she needs help."
While Iris bugs Chase about watching Wendy, the faceless in the trench coat walks up behind them without them noticing.
The faceless grabs and tosses the entire circle of clothes that Iris and Chase were hiding in. They both slowly turn around.
Naive as ever, Iris has a more friendly approach to this faceless stranger. Chase, on the other hand, is ready to run.
Iris: "Hi sir. Or… ma'am? I can't really tell since you don't have a face, ya know?"
Chase: There are faceless things here? "Iris, run away from him!"
Page 3
Shifting back to Wendy's perspective, she's seen putting up her dukes against three bots.
Wendy: "I don't understand. How did they all get corrupt at the same time?"
At a distance behind her, Iris appears right outside the clothing store. She looks confused as she looks around.
Iris: Where'd Chase go? I thought he was right behind me.
She doesn't have to look far; Iris is startled by the crashing sound of Chase flying out of the clothing store's window.
Chase: "ACK!"
Iris: Oh, there he is.
Wendy turns around for just a moment, seeing the two at a distance.
Wendy: "What the…what are you two doing here? I've got things under control for now."
Iris: "Well yeah, that was the plan…"
As Iris speaks, the coated faceless steps out of the clothing store, using the same window it threw Chase out of. Iris points at the faceless as she continues to explain the situation to Wendy.
Iris: "But then he showed up."
Page 4
Still in hiding, Jade watches everything going down on her phone.
Jade: "Hey Stone, you getting this? There's a faceless thing, like the one you fought."
Stone: "Yeah. Things are getting really interesting."
Jade pokes her head from behind a wall to get a look from a different angle.
Jade: I didn't expect a faceless to show up. That cop's irregular friends are really gonna have to jump in, soon.
Jade gives off a smile.
Jade: Heh, once the public sees the fight, they'll have no choice but to acknowledge that irregulars aren't trouble makers.
Shifting back to the area right outside the clothing store, Chase and Iris standoff against the faceless. Iris has a confident smile as she pops her knuckles.
Chase: "Iris, there's no need to panic. Just treat this like another one of your training exercises."
Iris: "Got it."
Chase: "Wendy, we're gonna have to take care of this guy. Think you can handle a few more bots in the meantime?"
Ready to fight, Wendy glances back for a second.
Wendy: "I'll be fine. Just be careful. Those faceless seem to be after irregulars." Times like this make me wish I could just blow 'em away like Elliot.
Page 5
Scene shifts to Elliot's perspective. He stands with Terry in a grassy area on a sunny day. He's concentrating on his hand. In front of him are two robots walking towards him.
Elliot: I'm starting to get the hang of it.
He aims a hand in front and fires an energy blast, blowing the bots away. This startles Terry.
Terry: "Nice, but gimme a warning or somethin'!"
The beautiful grassy meadow starts to fade, resulting in the entire area shifting to an all white room. The training simulation is over.
Terry: "You gotta learn to control that energy output. Overkilling everything will leave you exhausted. But I guess that's a lesson for later. Anyway, good stuff using your power at will."
Forte: "Looks like you've made some progress here. You two take a well-earned break."
Elliot: A break? Cool. I'm hungry."
Terry: "Welp, wanna watch Chad Dog Z?"
Elliot: "Slap it! Let's go!"
Page 6
In his room, Elliot crashes at the foot of the bed. Terry slaps Elliot on the shoulder, proud of his pupil.
Terry: "Hey, you did your thing back there in training. And to celebrate, all snacks will be on me."
Elliot: "For real? Thanks bro!"
Terry: "I'ma head to the vending machine. Be right back."
Elliot: "Aight. Hey, see if they have some white chocolate cookies, will ya?"
Terry: "I gotcha."
Terry takes his leave. A few minutes go by before Elliot grabs the remote and begins flipping through channels.
Elliot: "Stupid commercial breaks. Hmmm, what's this?"
Elliot's boredom from commercial breaks quickly turns to shock, his eyes widening.
Elliot: "What the!"
Terry walks in with snacks. Elliot is staring at the TV with his mouth open.
Terry: "Bro, they're out of white chocolate cookies, but I have some-"
Elliot: "Hold on. Look at this!"
Terry freezes when he looks at the TV, dropping his snacks.
Terry: "Hey, turn it up!"
Page 7
The TV displays a news reporter at the outdoor mall in Maple City. Behind him are Wendy and the others squaring off against their foes.
News Dude: "And we're live here on Maple City News on the west side of the downtown mall.
Iris: "West Side!"
News Dude: "Some of the military bots have gone haywire and are attacking civilians!"
The news camera shifts to Wendy firing her gun at the bots as she dodges incoming shots. Red laser beams just miss her.
News Dude: "Wait a minute. There's a young woman fighting the bots on her own!"
The camera then shifts to Iris and Chase, who're facing off against the faceless wearing a trench coat.
News Dude: "My goodness. There's a young man and a child caught up with some strangers in coats! I don't understand what's going on here!"
Page 8
A close up on the faceless reveals that, yes; it has no face.
News Dude: "Wha…is that…an alien? Something weird is going on here. And there still isn't a cop in sight!"
The faceless throws its coat off, wearing nothing under, revealing its muscular body.
News Dude: "Hide your kids, hide your wives! This might be too hot for TV, folks! I feel sorry for that child as everyone watches with their phones!"
Elliot continues to watch the TV while Terry dashes for the door.
Terry: "I'm gonna tell Forte what's going on! Keep an eye on them. I'll be right back."
Elliot eagerly cheers his friends on.
Elliot: "C'mon guys. You got this!"
Page 9
Shifting back to the outdoor mall, Wendy is seen dodging to the side. She eyes Chase for a split second.
Wendy: "Those faceless are tough. Be very careful!"
Chase: "Understood. Without our abilities, this'll be tough."
Dodging another attack from one of the bots, she looks a little confused.
Wendy: "Without your abilities?" I don't think he understands how tough those faceless things are. Does the public really fear irregulars so much that he feels he needs to hide his powers at a time like this?
One of the bots comes in wearing a glove with triple claws, swinging at Wendy. She back bends to barely dodge it, losing a few strands of hair to the blades.
Wendy: Gotta focus on my own fight for now.
As the claw bot misses its attack, another unarmed bot rushes Wendy. A third bot stands back, aiming its gun at her, the barrel glowing a bright red.
Wendy: Ugh, I can't counter while the others apply this much pressure!
As she moves back to gain some distance, Wendy catches a glimpse of the bot with the gun, charging a shot.
Wendy: From that trajectory…
Page 10
Wendy makes a quick take behind her, seeing the muscular faceless swinging at Iris and Chase, who continue to dodge, at a distance.
Wendy: Perfect.
The bot with the gun fires a red beam at Wendy. The beam flies right past her as she dodges, hitting the muscular faceless in the back instead.
Ignoring Iris for the moment, the enraged faceless turns around, showing clear signs of agitation.
With a blank expression, Wendy points at the bot with the gun.
Wendy: "That was all him. He did it."
Without warning, the muscular faceless dashes past Wendy, clotheslining the weaponless bot's head off with one hand and cocking a fist with the other.
Page 11
The muscular faceless smashes the gun-slinging bot's head into the ground with its fist, bolts flying everywhere. The muscular faceless continues to smash the bot into pieces.
Wendy: "It seems occupied for the moment." Good. I'll use this time to finish the last bot.
The bot with the claws charge at Wendy.
Wendy: Here he comes.
Swings its claws at Wendy, she ducks and shoves her palm onto the bot. A closer look reveals that she planted something onto it.
Jumping back to gain some distance, Wendy gives off a smirk.
Wendy: "This fight is over."
Page 12
The bot dashes at Wendy, but before it could make it to her, the bot explodes.
Wendy: "I guess it wasn't intelligent enough to notice I planted a bomb on it."
She looks at the faceless, who's almost finished smashing the gun-slinging bot into the ground.
Wendy: "I'm gonna need help taking him on."
Off screen voice: "OMG, that girl just beat up those bots! This is so gonna go viral!"
Wendy turns around and is almost furious at what she sees; a group of civilians at a distance. The issue is, they're all pointing their phones at Wendy.
Wendy: "What are you doing?! Why are you all still here?!"
Civilian: "This is gonna give us a lot of followers. What else?"
Wendy: "ARE YOU INSANE?! GET OUT OF HERE!"
Wendy slaps her forehead.
Wendy: I seriously think I'd rather deal with more bots than this.
Page 13
Chase calmly walks over to Wendy's side along with Iris.
Chase: "You're really holding your own. But we'll have to step in against this faceless." But I'm not sure I can do this without my powers.
Chase looks around at the delusional civilians.
Chase: And they're recording. I'm only supposed to use my powers behind the scenes. But this is…
Off screen voice: "Excuse me. Sir?"
Chase and the others turn to see the news reporter from earlier. A few people are with him, holding up their phones.
News reporter: "Can you tell us what's going on with that creature over there? Where did it come from?"
Page 14
Chase snaps at the crowd.
Chase: "What are you people doing?! It's dangerous here!"
Some dude: "Our cameras will keep us safe; it'll hold the wild bots accountable."
Chase: "Wha?"
Chase quickly turns to Wendy.
Chase: "Hey, we gotta lure this thing somewhere else. The civilians are actually recording this!"
Iris: "Instead of running? That's not very smart."
Wendy: "My thoughts exactly. But it looks like that won't be a problem. Look."
Wendy points to the side near the parking area of the outdoor mall. Two cops are seen escorting civilians.
Page 15
Wendy: "It's perfect timing, especially since the faceless looks like it's finishing up. Maybe we can catch it off guard if these people hurry."
Cop #1: "This way. This way!"
Cop #2: "Put the phones away and MOVE!"
In the crowd, the man that Wendy rescued is seen yelling.
Man: "I'm telling you; it's not worth it! It's dangerous!"
As the civilians leave the scene, Iris steps in front of Wendy and Chase.
Iris: "Now that the phones are put away, can we kick its butt?"
Wendy: "The faceless is dangerous. We can't be reckless."
Page 16
Scene shifts to Jade. She stands in the middle of the crowd of civilians. She appears irritated by the crowd.
Jade: Ugh. I can do without all the idiots, but I guess it could be worse.
She looks around at the crowd with a slight sense of disgust.
Jade: Look at them. Scared of what they don't understand. Personally, I think they don't even deserve seeing the good in irregulars, but maybe this will finally be the turning point.
She shifts her attention to Iris, Wendy, and Chase. They prepare as the faceless turns and walks towards the trio.
Jade: "Oh, this is it." The public is finally gonna see some irregulars in action!
