"Where was He when mum and dad died? When we were so helpless at that tender age?!!" Aydan yelled as he began to shed tears.Aydan stood up from the dinning table and began to walk away. However,Jayson, his brother who brought up everything retorted, "God was there all those times Aydan! God was there! He didn't leave us!". Aydan looked away and stopped suddenly when Jayson said that. "I just wish that you can believe again after so many years" Jayson emphasized, thinking that saying that would make an impact. Aydan just continued and stamped his feet in tears as he went away. Jayson bent his head in sorrow and mourned to God, "Lord, please make my brother believe in you again, our parents just wanted us to continue to have faith in you, but, Aydan is just falling apart".

The following morning, Aydan ate his breakfast quickly and showered. He observed himself in front of the mirror in his room. Even though his room was small and quite crowded, Aydan always appreciated his brother and his life, because, he knew that for the past eighteen years it was his brother that took care of him after their parents passed on. He studied his muscular features carefully in front of the mirror. Aydan was white skinned, with small eyes and he had a pointed nose with a small mouth. Aydan was a real definition of masculine and with six divisions of his abdomen he became one of the good looking students in his college. Aydan being so impressed with his looks, he proceeded into leaving the house, until Jayson called his name and asked, "Where are you off to?". Jayson almost looked similar to Aydan , Jayson passed through hell after their parents passed on, because, he had to cater for his younger brother, who was then some months old with no relative, Jayson was then only ten. He wasn't so concerned about his looks but one thing he cherished the most was his relationship with God.Aydan began to answer the question, but Jayson cut his words and said, "Helen had an accident yester night. She is battling for her life in the hospital". Aydan was so alarmed that he stammered, "W- What?". Aydan without thinking twice rushed out of the house and he ran like he had never than before to the hospital. Despite all the girls who often expressed their love to Aydan, he always saw Helen as one in a million. The way Helen and Aydan met was just so fascinating, Aydan was crashed by a car being driven by Helen' s driver, Helen was panicking terribly as she called for help and people helped her pick up unconscious Aydan into the car. After treatment , Aydan told Helen all about his life and how he had suffered, Helen sympathized with him after she heard that Jayson was a talented athlete but with no job opportunity. Then she told his father to hire Jayson as one of the athletes in a daily marathon Aydan thanked her greatly and Jayson too and that was how Jayson also became connected to Helen. Jayson then expressed his worries about how Aydan had lost faith in God to Helen , Helen also promised to help but all in vain. As time went on, Helen rekindled some love for Aydan despite his immense beauty Aydan also fell for her terribly so they began to move on together. Aydan cherished Helen the most apart from his brother.

Jayson who was bare chested at the moment, picked up a brown shirt on a wooden chair near him and wore it. Before he was about to leave the house, he took his jersey and knelt down and prayed to God earnestly. Jayson shed tears again as he whispered to God, "God I have a marathon today, you know that is the only way I can pay Aydan's fees, regardless of how I need the money to buy my drugs I have to make sure Aydan is comfortable". Jayson concluded his prayer, wiped his tears and went to the competition grounds.

Jayson ran as if his life solely depended on winning, of course, without the win Aydan would be sacked from college, but that was unknown to Aydan. Jayson was not ready to spill the beans. Eventually Jayson won his race and got the prize and settled all of Aydan's bills.

Afterwards, Jayson hurriedly went to the hospital where Helen was admitted. Helen the pretty young girl with blonde hair was then pale and stiff, she had dark spots beneath her eyes. Jayson could tell that Helen was gone. Her eyes were closely shut and Aydan was beside her sobbing. When Aydan saw Jayson he rushed to Jayson. "Bro!! Helen is dead!!" Aydan mourned. Jayson hugged Aydan tightly and consoled him. Jayson went to Helen and sat by the bed, Aydan also sat by his side. Jayson said to Aydan, "Aydan, you really want Helen to live?". Aydan nodded and smiled as he said, "I have never loved any other person this way apart from Helen and you as my brother". Jayson continued, "Then, it is time to believe in God that He can do this, trust me". Aydan responded, "I will do everything to see Helen back". Jayson held Aydan's hand and they both knelt down and Jayson prayed earnestly and for the first time in many years, Aydan had faith. Few minutes of praying without doubt, Helen's heart began to beat again and the pulse reader began to beep. All the nurses were so surprised some even thought it was a dream, they all rushed into the theatre. Jayson and Aydan rose up and Aydan was so amazed to see that Helen's heart was beating again. Aydan extremely excited thanked God for the first time in years and he hugged Jayson tightly as he said, "I am so sorry I never believed again, God truly cares even for me, who doubted so much and I who believed strongly in material things other than God, thanks". As Aydan uttered these words, Jayson fell to his knees and smiled as he went unconscious. Aydan dashed out of the theatre and shouted for the doctor, "Doctor!! Doctor!! Please come hurriedly my brother has just fainted!!". The doctor came panting and the nurses aided him and they took Jayson to the emergency ward. The doctor ushered Aydan to stay behind and watch Helen. The doctor was even much more mesmerized that Helen had come back to life after everyone thought she was dead. Aydan went to Helen and saw Helen's eyes widely opened. He went and hugged Helen as he planted a kiss on her cheek. Helen's smile enlightened his whole body and he narrated to Helen how he then believed in God. Helen was very happy about that revelation because she was no exception of the people who always encouraged Aydan to have faith and believe again. Then Helen asked, "But where is Jayson?". Aydan swallowed harder and answered, "He fainted right after you survived and I believed. He has been sent to the Emergency ward". Helen said softly as she squeezed Aydan's hand,"It's going to be okay. Calm down". Aydan nodded and smiled as he wiped a tear from his right eye.

Later, a nurse came to the theatre and said, "Aydan, the doctor wants to see you at his office". Aydan kissed Helen at the cheek again and went away. Aydan steadily walked into the doctor's office after being admitted in.

Doctor: Aydan please sit down.

Aydan: [Uneasy] Emmm okay.

Aydan :[Tensed] Any problem doc.?

Doctor:[ Tries to ignore the question and stammers] N- nothing I think you will like to see your brother. Let's go.

Aydan found the doctor's answers enigmatic, but he just went along with him to the Emergency ward, after all he was worried sick about his brother. Aydan became wretched when he saw his brother lying on a white bed with a connected oxygen tube beneath his nostrils. Aydan had a lot of questions to ask the doctor. "Doctor why is my brother surrounded with all these, why is his heart beating so slow?". Aydan yelled. Jayson calmly signalled the doctor to go away and he took over.

Jayson:[Straining] Aydan calm down.

Aydan:[Shedding tears] I cannot calm down seeing you like this.

Jayson:[Shedding tears]For the past five years I have been battling with hole in heart.

Aydan:[Surprised] Why didn't you tell me?

Jayson:[Sobs] I am the one taking care of you, you were only fifteen and if I had told you there will be possibly nothing you could do. I didn't want to envelope you with my burdens.

Aydan: I was too selfish, that I couldn't see that you were suffering.

Jayson:[Smiling] You were never selfish, even if I die today I will be happy because I made you believe again. Maybe this may be my last breathe.

Aydan:[Shooks his head] No, no Jayson you must live with me to the very end.

Jayson:[Strains to speak] Promise me that you will always believe and have faith even when I am not there.

Aydan: [Crys] I will be so faithful and devoted to God.

Jayson:[Smiles] I had a marathon today and guess what?

Aydan:[Wipes his face and smiles] What?

Jayson: I paid all your school bills when I won today's marathon you won't have to pay fees till you finish the semester.

Aydan: That means you knew that this will happen to you today?

Jayson:[Smiles] Yes I told God that he should let His will come to past.

Aydan: [Hugs Jayson] I love you and God.

As Aydan confessed that, Jayson closed his eyes and was no more.

Aydan didn't cry throughout the burial and Helen became curious. " I thought you would be so uncomfortable and sobber but you are the one rather speaking consolingly" Helen asked. Aydan responded, "Before Jayson died, he was so happy although he knew that he would die. I learnt that the greatest gift he ever gave to me was not the comfort but God. I never thought I would become an athlete but I have become one. I ran as fast as the wind" as Aydan said this he smiled and Helen hugged Aydan tightly as she said, "You are one of the greatest gifts God ever gave to me".

Aydan continued to believe in God and he became the best runner and his legacy continued to reign.
