Luna didn't have much time to think as the door opened, it was Althea and she was alone.
"It's time for dinner your highness," she said, Luna gave a nod and looked at Althea, their eyes met and Luna quickly averted her gaze. Althea moved close to Luna, she took Luna's hand into hers, then raised Luna's chin.
"Be brave," she said in a silent voice, this seemed awkward to Luna, and she hurriedly pushed Althea's hand away from her face.
"I'm hungry, let's go out and eat," she said and moved to the door, Althea opened it and they walked out. Luna looked over at the direction where she had seen the…vampire? No. Red eyes monster in a smoky hood, that was the perfect description for it.
"Uhm… Can I ask you something?" She asked, Althea gave all her attention to Luna. "I… uh… like, I saw somet-" Luna stopped, she wasn't sure if she should tell Althea or not, she couldn't trust anyone, not especially when she was going to die in their hands.
She bit her lower lip hard, then released it, Althea raised her brow and grinned.
"Is there anything bothering you?" She asked, Luna shook her head.
"No,"She lied. "Take me to the dining hall please,"
"This way then," Althea walked ahead of Luna, leading her to the dining hall, Luna turned her back if she was going to see the red eyes monster in a smoky hood, but it wasn't there.
On their way to the dining hall, she caught sight of a garden full of beautiful flowers and plants. The flowers were so colorful that they looked like they could bloom in every corner. She could see the delicate, soft petals swaying gently in the wind as a faint scent floated through the air.
The colors seemed almost alive in the sunlight shining on them. The plants had a wonderful aroma too. It was an odd mixture of roses and chrysanthemums, lavender and jasmine, which she'd never smelled before.
She wished she could go into the garden and smell all the flowers and trees that grew in it. That would be such a remarkable thing to do.
"I see all your attention are on the garden," Althea's voice brought Luna back to the present.
"Uh?"
"You love the flowers?" Althea asked, Luna nodded and continued. "You could go in there, only after the ninth night," her wrist sent chills through Luna's spine.
The ninth night, when she was to be devoured. She closed her eyes and inhaled sharply, then slowly opened it to fine Althea staring at her with a smug smile.
Luna looked away, for some reason which she didn't know, she swore to herself that she would survive! She had to. They got to the dining hall, Althea walked in with Luna.
The hall was filled with over an hundred people, and they all looked at her strangely, a very long table was in the middle of them. There was so many scrumptious and delicious meal on it, Luna was surprised by this, was there a celebration going on?
Althea led her to her seat, then stood behind her. Luna looked over at everyone on the table, their gazes were focused on her, which made her uncomfortable.
"Can you all please not look at me?" She asked, they all looked like they wanted to devour her. Well, if she was going to die, it wasn't going to be on their hands, she was going to die old!
Her gaze became fierce as she glared at all of them, shockingly, they looked away. Then she turned to her food, she frowned when she looked at the big portion of red meat in front of her.
She had heard of cannibalism before, were the demons also cannibals? Because the meat on the table didn't look good. Her stomach churned, and she felt the urge to vomit.
"Are you alright?" She looked up when she heard Damien's voice, and a thought came into her mind. She wondered if he was the one in the hood.
He sat opposite her, which was rather confusing, wasn't he the king of demons? Wasn't he to sit at the… suddenly, everyone at the table stood up and bowed their head?
Luna looked confusingly at all of them, worst of it, her husband was also standing with his head bowed. What was happening? Who was it coming?
Then she saw it again, the hood, but she couldn't its eyes…this time it was in a human form. What was happening? Who was in there? Was it the same spirit that she had seen before? She wasn't even sure if that was in her imagination, a vision, or it really happened.
It got closer and sat at the only seat, which was meant for the highest, the king. Luna looked at it, but couldn't see its face as his head was lowered.
He sat on the seat, and the others did the same. She threw a confused glance at Damien, a mischievous smile spread on his face as he looked back at her.
Then he stood up from his seat and walked over to Luna, he stretched his hand out to her, she took it and stood up from her seat. Even though she was confused and didn't know what was happening, she still followed him.
He took her and walked around the long table slowly, at this point, Luna didn't understand what he was doing, she wanted to oblige, as if reading her thoughts, Damien gave her a dangerous stare, his eyes were cold which seemed to send a warning to her.
She glared back at him as they walked around the table three times, her legs were wobbling, and she could barely stand. They finally stopped after the third time, then Damien took a glass of greenish liquid, the others did the same except for the strange thing.
He raised it up and everyone did the same, "To the new queen of Golgotha!" He said.
"Your highness!" They replied and bowed to her, Luna scoffed and used her hand to fan herself while she rolled her eyes. What did they think they were doing? Some crazy cultures?
Why bother for all this when they knew they were going to kill her soon? Shameless things!
"And his wife, Queen Luna" Luna heard Damien's last word, she was too engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't hear what he had said.
Then he placed her hand on the hooded thing, it was a man! What in God's name was happening? She looked at the big palm that her hand was in, it was rough and strong.
She bit her lower lip and looked up, that was when she got the biggest shock of her life. She could see the same fiery eyes as before! So it was this same strange person? She shivered in fear, her legs were failing, then Damien dropped the last bombshell.
"The Queen, and the king!" Luna's heart stopped beating when she heard that! Damien wasn't her husband, but this smoky fiery eyes demon?
This time, her legs failed her as she passed out from shock.
