Chapter 8 - A person called Mother

Mom: It's my birthday tomorrow.

Jaxon: I see….

Mom: Will it be alright if I make a request for my birthday?

Jaxon: Of course

Mom: Tomorrow, I want to spend the whole day with you as your mother outside this apartment. Is that alright?

Jaxon: Sure

*Mother has a shocked expression on a face however she gives a really relieved smile.*

Mom: Thank you, I'm really glad.

Jaxon: What about this envelope?

Mom: I want you to read the envelope on Monday , after your school ends, alright?

Jaxon: Alright

Mom: Can you promise me not to open the envelop before your school.

Jaxon: I promise.

Mom: Thank you, now let's eat dinner.

*Both of them ate dinner together and went to sleep afterwards. Jaxon kept his promise to mother and got ready early in the morning. His mother is already waiting for him at the common room.*

Jaxon: Happy birthday mom.

Mom: Thank you.

Mom(in her mind): He really keeps his promises huh.

Mom: Now let's get going.

*Jaxon's mother had already planned out the entire day ahead. They did many things like going to shopping , sightseeing , eating at a restaurant and much more. The day passed in the blink of an eye. They returned back to their apartment.*

Mom: I had a lot of fun together.

Jaxon: Me too however(with a little smile) I will make sure to make it even more enjoyable next time.

*Mother looks at Jaxon with a shocked expression.*

Mom: I will be looking forward to it then.

*Both of them went to sleep in their respective rooms.*

*The next morning Jaxon wakes up and gets ready for his school. He doesn't sees mother anywhere however his lunchbox is already prepared in the common room.*

Jaxon: I guess she is still tired from yesterday

*He took his lunchbox and went to school. On his way he saw Amelia and the others*

Amelia: Good morning!

Zach and Sasha: Good morning!

Jaxon: Good morning everyone

*Many people in the classroom were surprised with Jaxon's interactions with others however by the last lecture , they realized their mistake and apologized to Jaxon for Judging him though Jaxon never wanted an apology in the first place.*

*After the last lecture ended. Jaxon opened the envelope given by mother.*

*He has a shocked expression on his face.*

Amelia: Jaxon! Do you want to-

*Before she could complete her sentence ,Jaxon ran outside the classroom. Everyone who saw him could tell that something was wrong.*

Zach: Oi! What's wrong?

*Jaxon didn't pay any attention to his surroundings and ran as fast as he could towards his apartment.*

This is Jaxon's pov:

I don't remember anything about my childhood or my parents. When I was 3 years old , my biological parent died in a car accident though I survived my brain damage and I was transferred to an orphanage. The orphanage director had told me that no body is ever going to love or adopt someone like me since I was thrown away by my relatives as well. Everyone avoided me in the orphanage, I got my regular meals and drinks though I was all alone. I spent most of my childhood without any interactions or learning any new emotions. I would always see everyone around me slowly leaving away after getting adopted. I came to the conclusion that I am bound to be someone who is hated by everyone. However, a middle aged man chose to adopt me for some reason. He was a police officer who taught me self defense and basic education even though he was busy all day. He had brought me clothes, made homecooked meals for me and enrolled me in a school for social experience. I don't know if he ever regretted raising me since I never expressed my emotions that deeply but he always smiled at and would always take time off to spend some time with me even if it was only for an hour. However , the day when he stopped smiling was on his death bed. When I turned 16 he got in an accident, I was given his inheritance and money as his last will, turns out that he was alone like me with no relatives of his own however I was alone once again.

End of pov

*Jaxon reached his apartment and broke the door going towards the bedroom*

Jaxon(in his mind): If I knew that she will die because of me , I would have never offered her a place to stay in the first place.

*Jaxon opened the door to the bedroom and saw mother lying on the bed unconscious with a smile.*

Jaxon: Wake up

Jaxon(in his mind): Not again

*Jaxon sat on the floor while calmly checked her pulse.*

Jaxon(in his mind): Why did this happen?

*BEEEEEEP*

Zach: OI! Come to your senses!

*Jaxon turns around and sees Zach shaking his shoulders.*

Jaxon: Za...ch?

Zach: You really know how to scare the sh*t out of people don't you!?

*Loud footsteps can be heard from a long distance. Sasha enters the bedroom after some time covered in sweat*

Sasha(While panting): You run really fast despite your appearance.

*Sasha looks at the scenario in front of her and gets a slight idea. She goes towards Jaxon and rubs his back.*

Sasha: Are you alright?

Zach: Everyone who saw you is really worried you know.

Jaxon: I-

Amelia: There is no need to say anything.

*Jaxon saw Amelia holding his bag and the envelope. Amelia went forward and handed Zach the envelope*

Amelia: However, I think that you should at least complete the task your mother gave you.

Sasha: However try to calm down before doing so.

Zach: Take some deep breaths,alright?

*Jaxon takes the envelope out of Amelia's hand and starts reading the letter.*

Inside the letter:

If you are reading this letter, I must be dead by now. I am suffering through stomach cancer and I already knew that I am going to die this year. . My suitcase has the remaining money that is under my name . It will be sufficient until you complete your college. However, the reason why I was sitting on the park bench alone is because my husband and family had abandoned me since I was unable to bear a child. The only reason why I was living in their house for so long was because I was a famous fashion designer in the countryside. After giving them my property I was abandoned. However, looking back at it I lived quiet a decent life with little love so it was not that bad. However I had one regret that I never got to be a mother and call someone as my own , that's why I came in this town that is free of politics. However, your appearance helped me fulfill my dream of what it would be like to have a son. That's why thank you so for letting me into your life.

- From Emily

*That day Jaxon cried to his heart's content while reading his letter while his friends were there to lend him a shoulder.*

*Twenty years later.*

"The interaction was just a small part of the normal life though I wonder if I would still be able to become the person I am right now without the help of this person called Mother."

Amelia: Honey , you better stop writing your Dairy this moment or the kids are going to stop a rampage out of hunger.

Jaxon: Sorry! I am heading over right now.
