Chapter 71 - Serendipitous

Melanova, seemingly satisfied with her treatment of Kyran's scrapes, leaned back and said, "You're all good now. I would say go see a Healer after but..." She glanced over at Caspian.

"Not necessary," Kyran said.

She rolled her eyes. "Of course."

Elara, for her part, was drowning in unease. She was happy that Kyran was whole and well, save for the few scrapes, but that yawning pit she had been feeling for a while now had only grown wider. That damn nagging, insistent feeling that she had forgotten something important was clawing at the edges of her mind, trying to rise to the surface. But no matter how hard she thought, the memory evaded her.

Aurelia, who had been beside her the whole time, glanced over at her and then did a double take. Wordlessly, she reached into her cloak's pocket and pulled out a handkerchief. When Elara stared at her, confused and a little dazed, Aurelia pointed at her nose.
