Lyanna knew when something was fishy, even without pressing her nose directly to the source.

"We'll need the horses prepared," Lyanna said, breaking the silence and filing her thoughts away for later. "After we've seen to the King, we'll ride to the hunting grounds ourselves."

Clarisse's head jerked up, alarm clear in her wide eyes. "Your Majesty, the King is expecting you to stay—"

Lyanna waved a dismissive hand, cutting her off with a motion of pure authority. "He'll survive in my absence," she said, a faint curl of annoyance on her lips. "Even in his current state, he's not so far gone he'll die without me by his side. Furthermore, if Caspian and his group have found trouble, it's my duty as Queen to ensure their safety as our guests."

The Lady-In-Waiting stammered, "I—I'll send word immediately for the horses to be prepared."
