Chapter 24 - He is honest for a reason

He let out a harsh breath, staying silent with his eyes blinking faster, then looked at me again, looking so anxious as if he couldn't bring himself to speak.

"I don't know where to start," he whispered.

I reached for his hand and held it. "I will always listen to you."

"But this is something that will change your view of me... Whether you like it or not, or whether you'll trust me less to have a future together," he said.

"No..." I shook my head. "After what happened last night, it's certain that whatever happens, we will have a future together. You chose me, and I accept that... That's the most important thing." I tried to reassure him, even though I still had doubts, but maybe this was better than him staying anxious.

"Shasha, I love you so much... I want to share everything with you..."

"Yes... I do too." I caressed his smooth jawline and smiled. "I've already told you everything about my life, the bad things I've kept hidden... Now it's your turn to tell me about yourself, the things you've kept inside."

He nodded with his sweet smile, then switched to holding my hand.

"Now tell me."

"Yeah... I, uh... Maybe you've heard of William Hart," he said, a little nervously, and the name he mentioned immediately reminded me of Stella's theory.

Shit, my heart raced, curious if he was really the son of that mysterious William Hart.

"He's a damn trillionaire from London," he continued. "He betrayed his wife without giving her a chance to escape him. He's selfish... He can have another wife... And that second wife is my mother," he added with a sour smile, quickly turning his face away.

I swallowed hard, shocked because Stella's guess was actually true. Logan was the son of a trillionaire, he had everything, and when his identity came out, even more girls would like him, and fans would think I'm not worthy of him.

"I don't like this background," he said, looking back at me. "I don't like being the son of a second wife... I don't know why my mom married him... Even now, they're still together as if they don't care about how the first wife feels and her children, and it's obvious that he knows the children of the first wife treat me and my brother badly. They don't care if it negatively affects me," he continued with a sad look, then looked down again.

"They always say I don't deserve anything from my dad, always calling me a bastard... My safety has always been at risk... Since I was little. That's why my identity was hidden from the public... I feel bad about it... Like an unacknowledged son, but I also feel lucky... At least people don't know my background and won't mock me for being the son of the second wife," he said.

I nodded, trying to understand his situation, picturing the kind of life he described.

"But..." He smiled again as I looked at him. "There's good news... They know about our relationship... And they fully support it."

"Really?" I gasped, unable to hide my shock.

He smiled even wider.

"Logan, what do you mean? What do you mean by that? They know about us and support it?" I couldn't hold back. "How could this happen? I mean..." I shook my head, pulling my hand from his.

"William Hart accepted me as his son's lover..."

"That's very understandable, honey..." He reached for my hand again. "You're beautiful, maternal, kind... My parents accept you because they know you're good for me..."

"Logan..." I sighed, looking at him anxiously, imagining what would happen if this relationship led to chaos. "Why did you tell them? What if this makes your whole family find out and mock you because of me..."

"No..." He stopped me, shaking his head. "No one will dare mock you... You are so worthy of me! Okay... And I haven't told them yet, but they have a lot of spies watching me so they found out about our relationship."

"Really?"

He nodded, and I suddenly felt scared, imagining that maybe his father's people were spying on us, watching everything we did, even what happened last night.

"Oh my God..." I sighed. "It's like we have no privacy anymore..."

"Don't worry..." He smiled while cupping my right cheek. "I've already warned them not to spy on me anymore. And actually, they'll always follow whatever I say as long as I don't hate them."

I was stunned, imagining the situation, it seemed like he was a son who regretted being born into this family, and his parents followed his wishes so that he wouldn't hate them. Maybe his parents agreed to our relationship because they didn't want him to hate them.

I thought this was beneficial for our relationship, but it still felt terrifying because he had a half-sibling from his father's first wife who might affect his life.

"Shasha... What do you think of my honesty?" He asked.

I frowned. "What?"

"I mean... Do you understand why I'm being honest?" he asked.

I shrugged. "I... I don't know. Maybe... Maybe we do need to be honest with each other."

"Don't you have a different view of me now that you know who I really am?"

"I..." I narrowed my eyes at him. "Everything's the same as usual... But... I'm happy if your parents don't mind our relationship. At least my fear has lessened." I explained, but he immediately smiled.

"Why?"

"Nothing..." He shook his head. "I thought you would hate me because I'm the child of a home-wrecking woman... And then my life is also problematic with conflicts in my family." He showed sadness in his eyes and reached for my hand again.

"But I promise I won't bring you into my family's problems..." He nodded and bit his lower lip for a moment, still staring at me. "My dad's wealth won't affect my life. Whatever he offers me, I won't accept because I don't want problems from his first wife or her children... I'm doing my best to stand on my own feet, with you..."

He smiled at me, and my heart raced, feeling so touched by his words. I understood his intentions. For some reason, I felt like he was very mature and serious about our relationship. There seemed to be no reason to doubt him anymore.

"And the reason I'm telling you this is because I want you to know that I won't create the kind of situation I experienced," he said.

I frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I really want to fulfill your dream of becoming a mother," he said, making my heart race again, feeling strange. "And it's also because I only want to have children with you... I want a future only with you," he continued with a wistful look.

I was stunned, my throat dry, not knowing what to say.

"Since I saw you, I haven't thought about loving any other girl but you, I haven't thought about a future with anyone else but you... Every time, it's always about you," he said again, then lifted my hand and held it with both hands, continuing to gaze deeply into my eyes. "I know you're scared because our relationship is still new and I'm younger than you, but that doesn't mean we can't get serious or take big steps. As I said, I'll never create the kind of situation I experienced... What I mean is, if I have children with you, then it will only be with you... No other woman will have my children..."

"You can say that because you're in love," I whispered, looking away from him, not wanting to be caught in his charm. "Everything can change..."

"I know... But my principles won't change, especially because it's something I've experienced!" He cupped my face, making me look at him again. "Please... Trust me... Don't throw me out of your life just because I'm younger than you. I couldn't choose my fate to be born earlier or later than you. If I could choose... Of course, I'd want to be older than you so you wouldn't doubt me, you..."

"Logan..." I stopped him, looking at him anxiously, seeing the fear in his eyes. "I'm scared... I'm really scared..."

"Don't be afraid..." He pressed our foreheads together and closed his eyes, so did I.

Now we were silent, my heart racing, imagining how life would go without him if I kept rejecting him and then he got bored and left me. I really wanted to agree with his plan, but what would people say? Wouldn't it be strange for a woman to have a child with a man seven years younger than her, especially since he was so handsome and rich?

I opened my eyes, seeing his handsome face so close. "Do I really deserve you?"

"Of course!" he whispered, opening his eyes, his thumb caressing my cheek. "You deserve it! And you already have the green light from my parents... What else are you afraid of?" he asked.

I was stunned, staring at him, not knowing what to say, but my heart always said yes, telling me to be sure and brave enough to take this big step.

"Alright, I will..."

"I will!" I whispered, quickly kissing his lips while wrapping my arms around his neck. "Prove it..."

"Yes..." He kissed me back aggressively, slowly pulling me onto his lap.

I closed my eyes, enjoying the softness of his lips, warm, sweet, racing, happy—there was no way to describe this feeling. He was like a drug, something I always wanted and couldn't avoid.
