Ren wakes up in his new apartment, sunlight filtering through the curtains, casting a warm glow on the walls.
He stretches, feeling refreshed and alive. After a quick shower, he throws on a comfortable pair of sweatpants and a loose T-shirt, ready to enjoy the day.
Exiting his room, he catches the delicious scent of something cooking, wafting through the air.
His stomach growls, reminding him just how hungry he is. He walks into the kitchen to find Lina at the stove, expertly flipping an omelet.
Sneaking up behind her, he can't resist the urge to playfully scare her.
"Boo!" Ren shouts close to her ear, tickling her back.
Lina jumps, nearly dropping her spatula. She spins around, wide-eyed. "Don't scare me like that, Ren! I could have burned my breakfast!"
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry! But seriously, what's for breakfast? I'm starving," he says, a grin spreading across his face.
"I'm making an omelet. If you're nice, I might share," she teases, her smile returning as she plates the food.
"Nice? Me? You must be mistaken! I'm the most charming person you know!" Ren quips as he takes a seat at the small table.
"Yeaa, sure," she teases.
As they dig in, the atmosphere is electric with banter. Lina leans forward, her expression curious.
"So, what are you going to do, now that you have money? Invest, start a business?"
Ren raises an eyebrow, pretending to think deeply. "You don't need to worry about that. I just want to live happily with you."
Lina rolls her eyes playfully. "Come on, Ren! Be serious. You could be so much more! You should at least think about it—imagine the possibilities! You could earn so much more."
He chuckles, shaking his head. "You really don't need to worry about that. I'll find ways to earn more. Trust me."
But her words linger in his mind, igniting a spark of inspiration.
"Investment? Business? Someone really can do many things with this much money. But... Do I have to? I'm different. Why waste time doing these things."
Then, out of nowhere, her name pops into his mind. "Eva, and my sweet revenge."
"I'm gonna buy the restaurant. If I own it, I could take my time plotting my sweet revenge on her." The thought sends a thrill through him, and a smirk creeps across his lips.
After the thought, Ren quickly finishes his meal and stands up, stretching his arms.
"I'm going out for a bit. I'll be back soon, Lina."
"Okay, I'll come with you!" she replies eagerly.
Ren hesitates, then shakes his head. "No, I'm going alone."
Her face falls slightly. "Then what am I supposed to do? I'm supposed to be your secretary, remember?"
He chuckles at her persistence, stepping closer. "You know, every good secretary needs a day off. Enjoy your day! Buy something you want, eat something you like, maybe watch some movies or something."
He leans down and plants a light kiss on her lips, savoring the sweetness of the moment. "Trust me, I'll be back before you know it."
With that, he leaves the apartment, feeling a mix of excitement and determination.
As Ren steps out into the bustling city, the streets are alive with people and noise.
He makes his way to the restaurant, the small, unassuming place called The Cozy Corner, where he used to work. As he approaches, he glances at the number on the board hanging above the entrance, mentally remembering it.
No one seems to notice him as he slips away, heading to a luxurious diner a few blocks away called The Silver Spoon. Once inside, he takes a seat in a quiet corner booth, pulling out his phone.
Taking a deep breath, he dials the number and waits. After a few rings, a soft, professional voice answers, "Hello, this is The Cozy Corner. How may I assist you?"
"Good morning. Is this the owner of The Cozy Corner?" Ren asks, keeping his tone formal.
"Yes, it is. Who am I speaking with?" she replies, her voice calm and steady.
"My name is Ren. I'm inquiring if your restaurant is available for sale. I have a strong interest in purchasing it," he says, keeping his tone respectful.
There's a brief pause before she responds, "I'm afraid it's not currently for sale."
"Please, allow me to clarify. I want to buy it. I am prepared to offer double the asking price. I believe this could be a mutually beneficial opportunity," Ren urges, confident in his proposal.
"Double the price?" She gasps, "Are you certain about this?" Her tone shifts slightly, hinting at intrigue.
"Absolutely. I'm very serious about this investment. Would you be available to discuss this further today?" he proposes.
"Very well. I have a few moments to spare. Where would you like to meet?" she asks, her voice becoming warmer.
"I'm at The Silver Spoon diner. Please come here if it's convenient for you," he replies.
"Yes, that's not far from here. I will be there shortly," she says before hanging up.
Ren puts the phone down, leaning back in his seat, a satisfied smile creeping onto his face. The wheels of his plan are set in motion, and he can almost taste the sweet revenge he's been craving.
With anticipation bubbling inside him, he looks out the window, watching the busy street as he waits for her arrival. This could be the beginning of something much bigger than he ever imagined.
