"You've got it," Ruby said, taking down another creature. "Keep going!"
The Shadow's voice boomed through the chamber, shaking the very walls. "You dare challenge me here? You are nothing. You will fall, as all before you have."
Ruby fired a shot at the core, her gaze unyielding. "Not today."
The ground trembled as the core pulsed violently, sending out waves of dark energy. The group staggered, struggling to maintain their footing. Selene's blade glowed brighter as she charged forward, slicing through the tendrils that lashed out at them.
"Finn, now!" Ruby shouted.
Finn activated his device, sending a pulse of energy through the chamber. The core's defenses flickered, its tendrils recoiling as it let out a deafening roar. "It's exposed!" Finn yelled. "Hit it now!"
