The walls trembled violently, sending chunks of debris crashing to the floor. The lights flickered erratically, casting the group in a strobe of chaos as the facility began to collapse around them. A piercing alarm wailed, its shrill tones barely audible over the roar of grinding metal and crumbling stone.
"We've got to move!" Caleb shouted, his voice cutting through the din. He grabbed Mia's arm, pulling her toward the nearest corridor.
Mia stumbled but kept pace, her head swimming with the residual echoes of the whispers. The weight of what they had discovered threatened to paralyze her, but the urgency in Caleb's voice kept her feet moving.
Ruby was already at the lead, her sharp commands driving the group forward. "Stay close! The whole place is coming down!"
