After arriving at the pavilion, Mother Bing gave Yuan a thorough check-up. Her movements were swift yet careful, though there were tears in her eyes. After checking Yuan condition, her tense nerves relaxed a little as her fingers detected a steady, albeit faint, pulse.
She then calmly explained to anxious PM Meng and Xu'er about his condition. "Only his blood essence is depleted. Overall, he is fine. He will recover over time with proper diet and nutrients." she said, her voice a mixture of relief and lingering concern.
Xu'er sobs filled the room, her small frame trembling as she clutched Yuan's hand. Prime Minister Meng stern face could barely conceal his worry. Despite Mother Bing's assurance, Yuan remained unconscious, increasing the anxiousness of the family.
Unable to wait any longer, PM Meng invited a renowned physician from Profound Pill Valley, Mr. Yang Yong. When Physician Yang Yong arrived, his aged face bore the calm authority of someone who had seen it all. After a deep examination, his diagnosis was the same as Mother Bing's.
"Mr. Meng, no need to worry. Only his blood essence is depleted," Yang said, stroking his long beard. "He'll recover with time."
"Then, why isn't he waking up?" Mother Bing anxiously asked. She was a more competent alchemist than Yang Yong but she wasn't an expert physician.
"That…" Yang hesitated, his gaze flickering between the worried parents. Finally, he sighed. "It's likely his spirit has suffered a shock. Physical recovery is straightforward, but a damaged spirit…" His voice trailed off, leaving the rest unsaid.
"What?" Both PM Meng and Mother Bing were shocked. The words hit like a hammer. The loss of blood essence was easily recoverable over time but damage to a person spirit was a different story. Even a minor injury to the spirit could cripple potential; a severe one might be fatal.
The anger Mother Bing was trying her hard to keep in check suddenly burst out. A very frightening qi burst out of her which scared the shit out of Yang Yong. He silently vowed to never get into the bad books of the Menghao pavilion, especially Mother Bing. He even decided to warn the Sect Master of Profound Pill Valley about this.
Summoning her four-winged Sky Eagle, she jumped onto its back and rushed toward the Monkey Valley. PM Meng followed close behind, his sigh lost in the rushing wind. He knew if he didn't stop her in time, disaster was inevitable.
When they reached the monkey tribe, Mother Bing arrival with her bloodthirsty qi horrified the monkey. The Monkey Chief, still covered in bandages, froze under her piercing gaze. Two elders at his side shared wary glances, their bandaged bodies evidence of a Yuan's work. The room reeked of medicinal paste and tension.
Mother Bing frowned when she saw the scene in the room. She looked around carefully and recognized the bandages because she was the one who taught Yuan how to apply them, especially the butterfly knot at the end.
"What happened here?" PM Meng asked. Being a Grade-4 master tamer, he could understand the beast language a little better. Previously when they came to the valley, they hadn't noticed the condition of the long-eared monkeys tribe. They were too focused on Yuan and left in a hurry to treat him.
Monkey Chief told them about their battle with Green Python and how Yuan treated the whole tribe. Soon under the lead of one of the elders, they entered the room in which Yuan used two stone bowls to make paste and detoxification soup. Mother Bing's eyes widened in astonishment.
"My son is a genius," she said with a mixture of pride and awe. "Even you couldn't have managed this at his age," she teased PM Meng, who rolled his eyes but silently agreed.
"Where is this python?" PM Meng tone turned serious.
Chief pointed toward the east and the 4-winged Sky Eagle flew up toward the east where Chief pointed.
"Boom"
Five minutes later, a loud bang was heard outside. A pair of 15-meter-long Green Pythons lay motionless in a crater, their scaled body limp and defeated. Sky Eagle circled above the hill, showing its dominance. The monkeys let out a collective sigh of relief.
Monkey Chief shuddered seeing the scene in front of him then he rejoiced. Finally, the nightmares of their tribe were dead.
Mother Bing gave Monkey Chief a Grade-3 healing pill. Previously, Yuan used a Grade-2 healing pill on him and now with a Grade 3 pill, he would not only recover, but his cultivation would also improve. Monkey Chief was a level 3 beast.
PM Meng and Mother Bing searched the whole area, however, weren't able to find who injured Yuan. They waited for Yuan to regain consciousness. But after regaining consciousness, Yuan couldn't remember what happened, causing them to sigh in resignation.
(Back to Story)
News of Yuan's condition and Mother Bing formidable power at Golden Core Realm spread like wildfire through Clear Cloud City. The info that her four-winged Sky Eagle was a peak-level Core Realm (Level-4) Beast—a rarity among spirit beasts—added to the storm of curiosity.
Beasts below level 4 were considered ordinary beasts. While only level 4 and the above beast was called the True Spirit Beast because a level 4 beast forms a core in his body, just like a human cultivator at Golden Core Realm.
Because of this, the pavilion was in chaos. Many people came to visit under the pretext of seeing Yuan. But most of them just came to confirm the news. Even the sect masters of 3 surrounding sects, the Golden Crane sect, Thousand Pills sect, and Thousand Beasts sect personally came to visit.
But this had nothing to do with Yuan. All of these people were handled by PM Meng himself.
He, meanwhile, was confined to his bed. His initial protests had been met with an unyielding glare from Mother Bing. "Step out of bed, and I'll break your legs," she warned. Yuan wisely chose obedience, though he couldn't suppress a sheepish smile at her fierce protectiveness. Mother Bing was personally taking care of him.
