But then, Yuan slowly added in a low voice, "It's a Red-tail Rabbit."
Boom'
Li Shiming and Li Shi Ying were shocked silent, their eyes fixed on the little beast in the cage. A moment later, Li Shiming came back to her senses, and with a swift motion, she arrived before the cage in Yuan's hand. She furrowed her brows as she examined the beast.
After a while, a look of disappointment appeared on her face as she shook her head and said, "This is a normal Red-eyes Rabbit, not its mutation, Red-tail Rabbit." Although she wasn't a Beast Evaluator, however, with her years of experience she was sure of her judgment.
Li Shi Ying's face turned red with fury as she glared at Yuan for getting her excited for nothing while a frown appeared on Yuan's face. He was sure of his evaluation that the rabbit was a Red-tail Rabbit. 'Why can't she recognize?'
So he insisted, "It is Red-tail Rabbit."
Li Shiming shook her head.
Just as they were arguing, the tournament ended. The top 5 positions of each section were announced and rewarded for their hard work as well as given the chance to choose the Academy or Sect of their choice.
As Yuan expected, Lu Ze was 2nd in the Beast Evaluators section. He chose to join the Myriad Beast Sect, one of the four main sects of the Crimson Empire, located at the Western border of the Empire.
9 representatives also selected a few disciples who performed well but unfortunately weren't able to make it in the top 5. Unlike disciples of the top 5 positions who will be given many privileges, these disciples will have to start from the lowest tier of the Academy or Sect they were selected in and climb from there.
Still, these few selected disciples received the envied glances of many.
As soon as the tournament ended, a few participants from the Beast Evaluators section ran out. Yuan was right in his judgment. These participants were the ones who managed to discover the reality of rabbit but weren't able to go outside or send messages because of the rules.
And now, alas, it was too late. They went up to the manager, only to learn that someone had already bought the rabbit. On top of that, the manager had no idea who bought it as many people made purchases today. How can he remember everyone?
"No, it has to be a participant from 2nd round." Someone thought out loud, causing a look of enlightenment to appear in others' eyes.
"But there were 206 of them. How can we find everyone?" another participant added, throwing cold water on their budding excitement. But no one wanted to give up and let go of such a treasure trove. Red-tail Rabbit was a walking source of rare herbs and cultivation treasures because of its spirit-sensing ability.
They began connecting the families and powers behind them as they felt finding the person who purchased the rabbit was out of their reach. The news of the appearance of a Red-tail rabbit in the tournament began to spread like a wildfire. In no time, anyone with little power and connections in the Clear Cloud City knew about it and was trying to find the person who purchased the beast.
The carnage began.
Even the carriage containing the beasts Yuan bought was stopped many times by different people, each with powerful qi. As for the fake Yuan (Han Mu), his face was pale while his whole body was shaking in fear. Besides Yuan, only he knew who bought the Red-tail Rabbit.
Fortunately, because of Yuan's meticulous planning of asking him to return to the Pavilion in front of everyone and buying the creature in disguise as well as the rarity of Beast Bag, no one managed to guess where the Red-tail rabbit went and the whole fiasco ended, or atleast on the surface.
Yuan and Li Shiming were arguing when she suddenly stopped and took out a badge. She stood stunned. She glanced at the cage and then her badge, then at the cage for a while, her eyes wide open in shock. After a moment, she hesitantly asked, "Is this the Red-tail rabbit?"
Yuan rolled his eyes at her. 'Wasn't this exactly what I've been telling you for a while now?'
He nodded.
Li Shiming eyes lit up in excitement, and with great difficulty managed to stop herself from laughing out loud. She asked, "Prove it?"
Actually, after reading the report of what was happening out there and how almost the whole city was looking for it, she was already sure that the small creature was a Red-tail rabbit. The timing matched perfectly. She just wanted to ask why she wasn't able to identify the creature and how Yuan was able to do it.
Yuan, on the other hand, felt her asking for proof was valid and explained, "Unlike Red-eyed Rabbit whose only feature is red colored eyes with white body, Red-tail Rabbit has red tail along with its red eyes. If you look carefully at the tail, you will find many tiny red spots in between the white hairs.
I expect this little fellow isn't older than a month, so his special characteristics haven't been developed properly yet."
After listening to his explanation and examining the creature, Li Shiming was shocked to her core. She could tell it required a very keen eye to find the spot. Though she had no idea that Yuan had been eating these rabbits for over 3 years now. So, it was quite easy for him to find them than others.
"You want to place the rabbit in the auction?" Li Shi Ying asked in a shocked voice. Yuan glanced toward her and nodded resolutely.
Both Li Shiming and Li Shi Ying were once again taken aback. For a moment they felt Yuan didn't know the real value of rabbit, but then shook their head. 'How can a person who knew such detail not know about its value.'
Li Shiming tried to sense Yuan Qi but felt nothing. Anyone who cultivated would release some qi from their body in the surroundings till they grow a lot stronger and manage to control it properly. But Yuan's body wasn't giving any such qi deflections.
Li Shiming heart turned solemn. Because of his knowledge, she assumed Yuan was a lot stronger than her and a serious look appeared on her face. The silly woman had no idea that the guy standing in front of her was the famous cripple of Clear Cloud City.
