Uzi glanced at the control panel in front of her. She hadn't had much time to examine the panel before, but now the worker drone had much more time since the threat of a disassembly drone taking her head was slim, but the chance of death was not zero…
"What are you looking at worker trash!?"
V's voice was harsh as she raised an eye after Uzi turned to look at her. Her ankle was chained tightly to the floor, but that didn't seem to limit the spite in her voice or the happiness she got from blowing through the bubble wand in her hand.
"Nothing, nothing…"
She turned her head back to the landing pod's controls. In reality, Uzi had little to no idea what the hell she was looking at.
Her right eye began to twitch.
Uzi turned towards a mirror and lifted the tuft of purple hair covering her right eye. A small symbol replaced the pupil in her visor. The symbol looked like a tiny hexagon with three arrows extending out equally in different directions ending with another small hexagon.
The mirror cracked after Uzi focused her vision on it.
She quickly covered the symbol back up while turning towards V once more. She was blowing morde bubbles through her left hand while spinning in her chair. Uzi's body froze for a moment as V's voice blared in her head once more.
"That's weird and concerning!"
"Bite me! This is probably your guys' fault!"
"I've never seen that symbol before."
"What symbol?"
Uzi jumped as S's voice questioned her on her other side. She hadn't noticed that S was looming over her other shoulder.
V's eyes got wider as she licked her robotic lips and smiled before speaking again.
"Wanna do an autopsy and find out~?"
She giggled slightly while extending her claws and turning her head to the side. V's smile was completely unhinged and quite frankly terrifying.
S's voice mumbled to Uzi's opposite side.
"Creepy…"
Uzi nodded while locking eyes with the tall, female, disassembly drone.
"So Uzi… Do you really know what you're doing?"
"I- uhm… Yessss… Maybe…"
Uzi sighed and slouched her shoulders while gazing around the ship's interior hull. The walls were lined with tons of unknown buttons and statistics she couldn't even begin to comprehend.
"No… I have no idea… Last time I was here, I had no time to actually look around. Now that I'm really studying this crap, I've realized I had zero idea what's going on here.
S jumped up and sat on an empty spot beside the center console. She crossed one of her legs over the other and pressed her hands against the panel for stability.
"I'M HERE!"
N bursted through the ship's door and stumbled onto the ground. He looked up at S and smiled awkwardly as she looked down at him.
"H-hiiii S…"
S said nothing however she extended her nanite tail and stopped the stinger inches before it touched N's visor.
"Jeez N, get up."
Uzi rolled her eyes as N scrambled to his feet.
"Sorry, sorry!"
N rubbed the back of his head as Uzi walked up and gripped his hat.
"You do know this is a pilot's hat right?"
N's eyes lit up.
"I was the pilot!? AWESOME!"
His visor went from one filled with joy and excitement, to one filled with anxiety in a singular moment.
"I crashed the ship and stranded us here with no way of ever getting home, oh my god…"
His demeanor changed back to an excited one.
"I'M A SPACESHIP PILOT!"
He turned towards V and put his hand up to her, seemingly searching for a high five.
V glared at her before hissing and turning back to blow her bubbles.
"Awh…"
N turned to S, but she simply shook her head no.
"You guys are no fun…"
Uzi tapped the console to get all the disassembly drone's attention.
"Listen guys, your ship's communication relay is absolutely fried. If we can get this thing fixed maybe we can contact the rest of your kind and convince them to join us."
N scratched his head once more.
"Why…?"
"If I could at least convince you and S to revolt against the humans then maybe I could convince the rest of the disassembly drones."
"Anddddddd… What happens after that…?"
"We find someone to fix these ships, travel to earth, and KILL THE HUMANS!"
Uzi smiled and giggled sinisterly to herself as V and S looked at her like she'd gone insane. N spoke up and laughed nervously.
"So uhm… About the whole wiping out humanity thing… Are we sure killing all the humans is uhm, the morally right thing to do…?"
Uzi shook her head and patted N's shoulder.
"Listen N, the humans left you without any way to get home, and they haven't been contacting you whatsoever. They're long past morality N."
The sound of rattling chains caused Uzi to turn her body just in time to see V attempting to rush her. V could only make it a few feet before the chains locked her in place. She smiled and twisted her head at Uzi.
"Oh REALLY? Where is proof of your innocence? Every stupid story I've heard from you idiotic workers has only described the human's wrongdoings. I PROMISE you aren't as innocent as you assume. Even if we could get home, the company would have us all killed before we got anywhere close to them, you idiot!"
N clutched his hands and got closer to V as she settled back into her rolling chair.
"What is up with you and the company V!? Everything you do seems to revolve around them!"
"That's none of your business…"
N sighed and looked back to Uzi.
"L was communicating with someone through that relay. It had to either have been the company or the other disassembly drone squads."
S stood up and dusted her legs off.
"It wasn't the other squads. I've heard D talking into the communication relay and he was more scared than anything. I know we were only the 4th ranked squad, but D was never scared of any drone."
Uzi pressed her hand against her chin and smirked.
"Good, then we know what to do."
"Are we heading back to your colony Uzi?"
"We might have to N, they owe me after I saved their butts."
S stepped towards the door.
"I wanna come. If I'm going to be working with these workers, I at least want to understand what the hell I'm getting myself into."
"Good, So N, S, and I will head back to the colony and find someone to help us. V… You stay here."
"Ah yes, like I could leave if I wanted to!"
V held her chain up and smiled, clearly taunting.
"Bite me! Let's go guys."
N, S, and Uzi exited the landing pod as the door shut behind them.
Damn it N… Why can't you just stop while you're ahead…
V sighed and reached into the pocket of her top and struggled to pull out a small white handkerchief. She gripped it with both her hands and held it close to her chest. Visions of her past flooded through her mind.
"I wish you were here…"
V pressed her legs against her chest inside the chair. She buried her face into them while clutching the handkerchief tighter.
"You would know what to do… Or at least be able to reason with N…"
She sighed once again.
"What am I saying… You'd probably side with N, you idiot…"
V leaned in the chair and closed her eyes.
I miss you…
-
A beam of light shone brightly in the middle of the large storage room. Two drones stood looking up at the hole.
"Soooo- erh…"
One of the drones looked at the other's name tag. Roboert was printed along a slim piece of paper locked within a name tag. He scratched his chin before talking again.
"Erh… Ladderbot 3000! Make sure you patch up this weird ol' hole. They said some kind of erh- 'Sick ass railgun' made the thingy mabobber."
"My name is Roboert…"
"Yeah yeah whatever ye say Botterlad 0003."
The male worker drone began walking away as Roboert called out.
"Please just leave the lights on. I can't se-"
The male worker turned the lights off while whistling to himself.
Roboert dropped his head and sighed while looking up at the hole, somewhere around 20 yards above him. He glanced at his puny ladder barely elevating him a foot off the ground and groaned.
A rattling sound caused Roboert to divert his attention from the shortcomings of his ladder. What sounded like metal rubbing against metal came from a dark corner of the room. He cautiously walked over to the small pile of knocked-over boxes and began to toss the boxes aside, quickly looking through them as he went.
He jumped back as a small robotic bug jumped out onto his hand.
"ROBOCHRIST!"
His hands shook violently as the bug scampered away into the dark. Roboert sighed with relief as he placed his hand on his chest.
"G-giggle."
"W-what…?"
Roboert moved another box as a large spider-like thing launched at his face and latched on with its claw-like legs. He screamed in agony as the spider began to claw at his face. The last thoughts he had were of its fleshly exterior and beaming yellow eye as it devoured him.
