Chapter 3 - 3: Longlane

Samia was out of her lessons, mentally. She didn't care for geography or chemistry; all her mind was focused on was Jeydah and her threat. You saw nothing, or you became nothing; it was interesting for her because either she sat around and waited for these 'gangs' to come and kill her, or she was protected.

Samia sighed as the final bell for the day ended, and she waited. Samia stood with a hoodie on as students filled out of the school. None she cared for. After 10 minutes, Jeydah and 3 other girls filled out a group, and Samia looked at them before Jeydah turned her head to see Samia. Jeydah signalled for her friends to go ahead.

"How serious were you about the gangs?" She asked in a hushed voice so no other student, teacher, or security officer could hear. "Oh, I was dead serious. Like I said, someone who's lethal without a knife, a fighter, someone who's more valuable. Someone way more valuable than Nolan or Milorad."

Samia listened and then spoke, "What's the name? I heard of the G214, The Towerside Terrorists, and the Highway Men, but what's yours?" Jeydah's face was scrunched as she mentioned them, "Longlane..."

"So, are you interested in joining?" Samia thought about it as she looked at her. It enticed her, but it was dangerous and most strange. "Yes, I am." Jeydah smiled, "Great..." She gestured for something, which confused Samia, but then she spoke, "Your phone."

Samia handed it over, and she started to type her number, "Just reach out, I have the perfect mission for you to test you. Bye." Jeydah started to walk off and then looked at her phone with a smile.

Soon, Samia arrived at her house. It was mostly tidy, with a few pieces of trash on the tables. It was alright, not disgusting, not out of hand. She arrived at an empty house funnily enough, and she spoke, "Come out." And soon a cat strutted out and brushed up against her leg.

[It's me, Samia]

After some minutes there was a text back

[If you're serious, and I hope you are, meet me at OKR Youth Club; do not enter it. How far away do you live from Flower Gardens?]

[20 minutes]

[Okay meet me in 40]

With that, Samia put down the phone and looked outside. The beautiful mix of blue, black and pink filled the sky like water glass. It was only 4.20 pm, and just admiring the sunset, she took a shower, got dressed and was ready.
