Harry had been lazing idly on the wooden chair while his legs were perched on the table in front of him when the door of the room was pushed open and in walked Minerva.
Seeing Harry in such a position, a frown appeared on her face.
"Mr. Potter," her voice was stricter than usual. "I believe that you had been left here not enjoy a comforting rest."
Harry smiled awkwardly in response as he slowly removed his legs from the table and stood up. Minerva shook her head in disapproval but taking into account that Dumbledore would be waiting for them, she did not drag the topic.
"Professor McGonagall," said Harry as he was following behind her. "What do you think headmaster wants to talk to me about?"
Although, Minerva did not stop nor turned around to answer, the question from Harry caused an incredulous expression to form on her face. In spite of doing so much, Harry still had the nerve to ask a question like that.
Fortunately, for Minerva, they arrived at the headmaster's office quickly. Following behind her, Harry climbed the staircase after Minerva gave the password to the gargoyle, "Lemondrop."
Even before she could knock on the door, Dumbledore's voice boomed from inside, "Come in."
Minerva pushed open the door and walked inside with Harry following behind her.
The inside of the headmaster's office was as grand and majestic as Harry had seen during his previous visit or the numerous visits which he had made in the past life.
Priceless magical artefacts, magical treasures which were considered to be the rarest among the rare in the magical world were placed all around the office as decorative pieces. And these were, in reality, decorative pieces of Hogwarts.
With a thousand years of legacy adorned by great wizards and witches, Hogwarts had built a powerful foundation. These decorative pieces were nothing compared to the treasures which were hidden behind the powerful Hogwarts wards.
"Good evening headmaster," greeted Harry breaking the silence that had formed after their entry.
"Good evening Harry," Dumbledore replied with his smiling face.
He turned towards Minerva, "Thank you Minerva."
Taking the hint of her dismissal, Minerva gave a curt nod, "Good night Albus" and walked away.
Dumbledore waved his wand… his old wand and summoned a chair opposite him across the desk.
"Take a seat Harry," he said.
Harry nodded and took his seat comfortably. Dumbledore, meanwhile, waited in silence for Harry to 'panic' and start explaining. But Harry remained unnerved as he continued to sit in silence.
"What happened on Hogwarts Express should have not happened Harry," Dumbledore deployed his usual tactics. He neither sought answers nor any explanations. He simply made a statement and left for Harry to offer all the explanation.
But this Harry was different. He also was a master of wordplay.
"Yes," Harry nodded in agreement. "This should have not happened."
Dumbledore again awaited further explanation but it was not forthcoming. He sighed deeply and decided to let go of his 'aloof and sage' status one more time.
"I mean why would you do such a thing Harry?" Dumbledore pressed.
Hearing this an expression of 'hesitation' and 'reluctance' appeared on Harry's face as he kept silence for few moments.
"Headmaster," he said with a worried face. "Since Mr. Walse has decided to not press any charges, I do not think that digging out past things would be a useful thing to do."
Seeing Harry's expression, Dumbledore's already enhanced curiosity was further increased. He knew that he needed to find the answers.
"Harry," replied Dumbledore in a comforting voice. "There are two things."
"First, even if Mr. Walse has absolved you of criminal charges, I cannot turn a blind eye to a student breaking the head of another student, especially you Harry. Therefore, I must reach to the roots of the incident."
The old headmaster continued, "Secondly, Mr. Walse has expressed his desire that, Hogwarts… under whose authority the incident has happened should deal with the incident fairly."
"Thus, I believe that you should be ready for an appropriate punishment. I cannot make an exception for you this time."
Harry's face turned slightly more anxious.
"Headmaster," said Harry. "It is not that I do not want to tell you… it is that I do not know how to explain things."
Dumbledore leaned forward, "What is it Harry?"
"I think you should tell me clearly and truthfully," he pressed. "I can see some worry is creeping you from inside."
At the mention of the worry, Harry's hand instinctively moved to his forehead… to the scar on the forehead.
The scar on the forehead now appeared even more prominent. It looked as if the wound had been inflicted just mere moments. Harry had cast an illusion in his scar to make it appear so.
Dumbledore narrowed his eyes as he studied the scar, "Is it about your scar, Harry?"
Harry hesitated but nonetheless slowly nodded in response.
"What is it?" Dumbledore asked with a concerned face.
