Hearing Dumbledore wanting to discuss one more topic, a confused expression appeared on Harry's face as he sat back down.
"What is it headmaster?" Harry asked.
"I learned of your curiosity about Wizengamot, their members and lord of the houses from Arthur," Dumbledore stated.
Harry cut him off before Dumbledore could continue, "I was not curious, headmaster. It was Percy who mentioned it and it was natural for me to question it."
Dumbledore continued as if he did not hear whatever Harry said, "And I also understand that neither you nor Miss. Granger would have been satisfied by the answer that Arthur gave."
"Well, it is not his fault," explained Dumbledore. "You see… this Wizengamot and lords and houses… everything is a pure blood construct and their politics."
Harry sneered inwardly. This was the manipulative Dumbledore in full flow. The old man was aware that Harry hated anything like nobility… pure bloods. The outlandish nature of Draco Malfoy coupled with Ron's constant mind poisoning were a big reason for it. The old Harry after learning its connection with all these things would have wanted nothing to do with it.
"While I cannot say that I can keep all of you away from this evil for your entire life," Dumbledore continued. "I try my best to keep that pure blood nonsense and its dirty politics as far as possible from Hogwarts."
"When the lot of you will leave Hogwarts, you will naturally learn about it. Till then, I try to keep my students away from those things."
"Those things… corrupt individuals… manipulate your thinking," Dumbledore added. "I wish that you and Miss. Granger, out of curiosity, do not go to find out these things and get involved."
Harry nodded in response. His expression did not betray anything what he was thinking. Dumbledore slightly frowned at the dull response from Harry. After all, he had expected at least some hatred from Harry at the mention of the 'pure blood' and 'politics.'
He added wearily, "Harry, I know you might still not be satisfied."
"But if you want to learn about anything, come to me," he continued. "I will give you better explanation…"
"Probably, next year, I myself will see if I can guide you in this particular matter," he offered.
With Harry's dull response, Dumbledore could only use his guidance as bait to keep Harry from going on a self adventure.
Harry's face lit up at this, "Thank you, headmaster."
Dumbledore smiled and his eyes twinkled.
"Headmaster," said Harry after a moment of silence. "I wonder if I can ask something?"
Dumbledore nodded, "Go on."
"Those death eaters who attacked during the Quidditch World Cup Final… do you think Voldemort is involved somehow?" Harry asked.
"And that person who killed them… who was he? Is he really as powerful as they say?"
Dumbledore's twinkle dimmed a bit and his face turned serious.
"Harry, those death eaters, they were not involved with Voldemort," Dumbledore explained. "The attack was their prerogative… they did that simply to have fun."
A disgusting expression appeared on Harry's face, "To have fun."
Dumbledore nodded and continued, "As for Voldemort making a return… this is quite difficult but nothing can be ruled out. You have faced the lingering effects of his soul."
"Maybe he makes another reappearance in a similar form," he added. "But I believe, he would be extremely weak this time, even if he reappears."
Harry nodded while Dumbledore continued, "As for the person… he has not been identified as the moment. And indeed, he is certainly powerful."
"But Harry," Dumbledore cautioned. "Simply because, he killed death eaters, does not mean, he is a good person."
"He carried out a massacre," Dumbledore sighed. "Killed those people in cold blood… with his power, he could have easily captured them but he chose the path of killing. Even when DMLE warned, he did not stop."
"In a way, he is another evil man," Dumbledore finished.
Harry nodded in contemplation.
"But I believe," Dumbledore added in a cheerful voice. "The mystery would soon be solved."
"And this year…" Dumbledore added. "You might have not heard, since you were not at the feast, we are holding a wonderful event at Hogwarts."
"I am sure your friends will tell you more about this," he added.
Harry's face lit up as he got up to leave, "Good night, headmaster."
"Good night, Harry," Dumbledore beamed.
Harry was about to step out of the door when Dumbledore interrupted, "And Harry, it seems to me that your relationship with Miss. Granger has moved rapidly… in certain direction."
A blush appeared on Harry's face as he darted across the office.
Dumbledore's face fell.
"It seems that Miss. Granger and Harry have really gotten too close," he mumbled as soon as Harry was out of sight. "When Molly learns of it, she is going to throw up a tantrum."
"Probably this event will give me a chance to remodel things," he added further lost in his thoughts.
