Chapter 19 - A FINAL GOODBYE

The day of Anya's funeral was a dark and somber one. Ethan's heart was heavy with grief as he stood among the mourners, watching as her casket was lowered into the ground. The sky was overcast and tears fell from the eyes of the people around him, mirroring the tears that streamed down Ethan's own face.

As the service began, Ethan's mind drifted back to the moments he had shared with Anya, from their first meeting at the park to their camping trip and their final goodbye in the park where they first introduced. He couldn't believe that she was gone, that the bright light in his life had been extinguished so suddenly.

The words of the priest leading the service washed over Ethan as he stared blankly ahead, his thoughts consumed by memories of Anya. He thought about all the things they had talked about, the dreams they had shared, the life they had planned together.

And now, all of it seemed like nothing more than a cruel joke.

As the service drew to a close, Ethan felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Aaron standing beside him, his eyes filled with sympathy and understanding. Without a word, Aaron pulled Ethan into a tight embrace, offering him a much-needed source of comfort.

As the mourners began to disperse, Ethan lingered by Anya's grave, gazing at the simple headstone that marked her final resting place. The weight of his loss settled heavily on his heart, and he knew that he would never be the same without her.

Ethan sat in front of Anya's grave, tears streaming down his face. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the cemetery. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his emotions as he pulled out a letter he had written for her.

My dearest Anya,

As I sit here, staring at the stars, I feel a sense

of peace knowing that you are among them now. Your light may have flickered out too soon, but the beauty you brought into my life will forever shine on.

Ethan paused, taking a moment to compose himself. He wiped away his tears, and continued.

"I can't help but think about all the things we planned to do together. The dreams we shared, the future we talked about. We were supposed to grow old together, have kids, watch them grow up, and then grow old together some more. But now...now all those dreams are shattered."

Ethan's voice trailed off as he looked down at the letter, his words written in a blur of ink and tears.

You taught me to see the world through your eyes, to find joy in the simplest things, and to cherish every moment. Even in your darkest moments, you radiated love and warmth, and I am forever grateful for the time we spent together.

He paused, looking up at the sky as if searching for a sign from Anya

I will always remember the way you laughed, the

way you smiled, and the way you loved. You may be gone, but your spirit lives on in me, and I will honor your memory by living my life to the fullest that would make you proud. I will always love you, Anya. Always and forever."

Rest in peace, my love, and know that you will

always hold a special place in my heart.

Forever and always,

Ethan

Ethan took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his grief slowly easing away. He placed the letter on Anya's grave, and stood up, wiping away his tears. As he turned to leave, he whispered one last goodbye.

"Goodbye, my love," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "Rest in peace, until we meet again."

After a month of Anya's passing, Aaron walked up to Ethan, who was sitting alone on a bench at the park, lost in thought. Ethan looked up and saw Aaron, surprised to see her there.

"Aaron, what brings you here?" he asked, a hint of sadness in his voice.

"I wanted to talk to you about something important," she said, sitting down next to him. "Anya always believed in your talent as a musician, and I think she would want you to pursue your dreams. I've been talking to some people and I found out about a music university that might be perfect for you. Would you be interested in going?"

Ethan's eyes widened with surprise and disbelief. He had always dreamed of attending a music university. As, Anya had been his biggest supporter and had encouraged him to pursue his passion, but after her passing, he had lost his motivation.

"I don't know, Aaron. After everything that's happened, I don't know if I can do it," Ethan said, his voice wavering.

"I know it's hard, Ethan. But think about Anya. She wouldn't want you to give up on your dreams. You have a gift, and you should share it with the world. You owe it to yourself and to her to make the most of your talent," Aaron said, her voice filled with conviction.

Ethan looked at Aaron, her words resonating with him. He knew she was right. Anya had always believed in him, and he couldn't let her down.

"Okay, Aaron. I'll do it. I'll go to the music university," he said, a sense of determination in his voice.

Aaron smiled, happy that she could help Ethan find his way back to his dreams.

"Great! I'll help you with the application process and anything else you need," she said, patting Ethan's back. "Anya would be so proud of you."
