Chapter 70: Shadows of War
After Prince Thrain's banishment and the departure of the Sentinel leader, Daelan, life in Kyrovia seemed to return to its usual rhythm. The Pyropeia Tournament had concluded with Thrain's victory over Erevan, but what no one noticed in the aftermath was a shadow-like entity, a venomous black presence, slithering away from the battlefield. Silent and unnoticed, it crept its way toward Master Takamori, vanishing into him without a trace.
The calm did not last long. Valtoria, Kyrovia's larger and more populous neighbor, launched a sudden and devastating assault. From the Dragon's Spine Mountains, Kyrovian guards stationed there sent urgent messages to the capital, pleading for reinforcements. But the kingdom's limited resources and smaller population left them stretched thin.
