Though he had no intention of answering her probing question, Thrain decided it was pointless to hide it any longer. Daelan had already revealed the truth to the sentinels, and eventually, word would spread. Perhaps it was better to let it out now, especially to someone as knowledgeable as Elrya.
"Yes. I have met the Phoenix," he said plainly.
Elrya, for the first time, showed genuine surprise. Her usually cryptic demeanor shifted into something closer to awe, her piercing gaze locked onto him as though she could pull the details from his very mind. "What was it like?" she asked eagerly. "What did it look like? How did it act? What did it say to you?"
