Daelan couldn't help but marvel as they walked. "Do you even realize how incredible that was? Meeting the Phoenix in its full glory… it's like standing in the presence of a god. Honestly, I don't know how you managed to keep that secret, Thrain. If it were me, the whole academy would've known by now!"
"And then everyone would think you're insane," Thrain replied dryly. "Crazy, delusional, and maybe a little desperate. Good luck with that."
Daelan smirked, clearly enjoying the banter. "Fair point. Though, come on, who wouldn't want to brag about meeting the Phoenix? That was otherworldly. I'd carve it into the academy walls if I had to."
Thrain rolled his eyes. "Yeah, that's one way to end up in a dungeon."
