Chapter 46 - Act 46

"Ding-dong."

The communicator rang twice, and then the secretary's voice came through: "Mr. Ke, the person you're expecting has arrived."

"Please let them in," Qin Huaigui said hurriedly.

Just moments ago, Qin Xuezhong had sent a message saying she would send someone over to fully represent her in handling matters at Xianren Dreaming.

Qin Huaigui had been anxiously waiting in his office, feeling uneasy.

—What other personnel does Qin Xuezhong have? Are they her own people? No wonder she rarely contacted him; it turned out she had subordinates who could handle things without him.

Qin Huaigui felt his position was precarious.

He realized that without Qin Xuezhong, this so-called presidency of his was practically worthless.

He silently resolved to cooperate well with whoever Qin Xuezhong sent, at least to leave a good impression, and to learn from them in the process.

Since Qin Xuezhong had sent just one person, it indicated that this individual could likely handle the mess on their own.

Qin Huaigui was curious about how a single person could tackle such a daunting issue that had the Fifth family so troubled.

The office door opened, and standing next to the secretary was a tall man—Yu Zhezhuzhu.

He had altered his appearance and now looked quite ordinary, but his gaze was striking and exuded a powerful physical control in his movements.

Qin Huaigui smiled and approached, extending his hand. "Hello, hello. May I ask how to address you?"

"Just call me..." the man hesitated, then said, "Er Gou."

Qin Huaigui was taken aback.

Er Gou?

What kind of ridiculous codename was that?

He wasn't in the black space and had no idea about Er Gou's infamous reputation in the training apparatus.

Yu Zhezhuzhu himself was equally puzzled and helpless about being assigned this name by Xiao Qin.

What he didn't know was that Xiao Qin was currently juggling identities in three organizations, and her own roles were so confused that she was a bit mixed up herself.

Qin Xuezhong urgently needed to delegate many of her affairs and identities, so she cleverly had Yu Zhezhuzhu assume the identity of her earliest "Er Gou."

Even Keith, who was among the first to encounter Er Gou, merely speculated that he had ties to the Phantom organization.

By distributing the identity of Er Gou, it could relieve some of her pressure—having someone to handle matters would allow her to relax.

If another incident like the alley ambush occurred, she wouldn't need to put herself in danger; Yu Zhezhuzhu could handle it himself.

Although the name Er Gou was rather strange, Qin Huaigui quickly adjusted his mindset and seriously said, "Mr. Er, thank you for coming to help. Where shall we begin?"

Yu Zhezhuzhu replied, "I need to review all the data from the past two years first."

Qin Huaigui was surprised and cautiously asked, "All... the data?"

His concern was reasonable.

For a giant corporation like Xianren Dreaming, even a single day's operational data could take a professional analysis firm a week to process.

The volume of data from two years was unfathomable.

Not to mention, there would surely be all sorts of shady dealings within the company, with people using various methods to conceal the truth.

How could this Mr. Er handle such data all by himself?

Yu Zhezhuzhu didn't answer directly, saying only, "Just connect me first, and we'll see."

Qin Huaigui nodded, gesturing for him to take a seat.

Then, he tapped a few times on the desk, and a half-enclosed neck ring extended from behind the office chair, adhering to Yu Zhezhuzhu's neck.

—This was the most convenient way for the president of Xianren Dreaming to exercise authority; by simply sitting in the office, he could control various affairs across regions with the highest permissions.

At the same time, he could access the vast internal data physically isolated in the headquarters' machine room.

Yu Zhezhuzhu tapped lightly, connecting to the system.

He was confident because he had previously handled data for military research institutes this way.

In retrospect, perhaps it was his exceptional performances that drew attention, leading to him covertly contracting an unknown disease and becoming a puppet.

He had a vague suspicion that those whose brain domain development exceeded 100% possessed a special ability. His was akin to a hard drive's data retrieval, allowing him to instantly read massive amounts of data in a way that surpassed human cognitive limits.

This method was actually quite noisy.

Over a decade ago, he might have been noticed because of it.

But now, with Qin Xuezhong's consciousness acting as a cover, he had no reason to fear being discovered and could use his abilities freely.

Once he accessed Xianren Dreaming's database, he quickly gained a clear understanding of the corporation's various business sectors, personnel distribution, finances, assets, affairs, and information.

After a brief analysis, he rapidly identified many anomalies.

The most severe issue was the virus.

Yu Zhezhuzhu considered himself fairly knowledgeable, but he had never encountered such a cunning data virus. It not only infected the underlying data of numerous devices and software but also continuously adjusted its existence based on changes in the surrounding data environment.

This part could only be resolved by Qin Xuezhong.

Next, the virus caused a lot of chaos. For instance, goods intended for location A were sent to location B, and money that was supposed to be recorded at store C ended up at store D, and so on.

Once the virus was dealt with, these discrepancies could be easily rectified, and the losses and troubles could be mitigated one by one afterward.

What struck Yu Zhezhuzhu as particularly outrageous was the working hours of Xianren Dreaming's employees over the past few days.

Due to the difficulty in resolving the virus, the previous president and his executives had forced employees into a frenzy of overtime, constantly searching for errors within the internal systems.

Employees with slightly higher brain domain development were even ordered to work in triple dream mode.

In a single day, aside from the six hours allocated for meals, sleep, and short breaks, the remaining 18 hours were spent working. Coupled with the double or triple dream mode, most people in the corporation averaged nearly 40 hours of work per day.

If their brains couldn't handle it, they resorted to drugs to push through.

Those who refused were simply shown the door. There was no shortage of people in the entire Xi Valley city.

Yu Zhezhuzhu was willing to bet that after a few days, Xianren Dreaming would undoubtedly have over a hundred employees suffering from data epilepsy.

While Tang Kede's program hadn't destroyed these people, the company had.

Yu Zhezhuzhu stared at the shocking numbers before him, dazed for a few seconds before gathering all the information and logging out of the connection screen.

"How is it?" Qin Huaigui, who had been waiting nearby, asked.

Since Mr. Er Gou had only been inside for less than two hours, it was likely that he hadn't even finished reviewing the directory.

Yu Zhezhuzhu nodded. "I've basically figured it out. The virus part needs... to be handled personally by Chairman Qin. As for the other issues, once the virus is eradicated, I'll provide you with a detailed resolution plan."

Qin Huaigui waved his hands hurriedly. "No, no, the team leader said that whatever you can handle, just deal with it directly, no need to go through me."

Yu Zhezhuzhu glanced at him, thinking that it turned out this president was also a puppet of Qin Xuezhong. He had no idea what special skills he possessed.

For a moment, Yu Zhezhuzhu regarded Qin Huaigui as his colleague.

To him, the people in the world could essentially be divided into two types: those under Qin Xuezhong, who were his colleagues, and everyone else.

He nodded in agreement and then contacted Qin Xuezhong to inform her that he was about to connect and eliminate the internal virus program of Xianren Dreaming, and establish corresponding firewalls through the developed program.

Little Qin secretly admired him; as expected of someone she had chosen, he resolved problems swiftly.

Without a word, she connected with him at lightning speed and deftly cleared the virus.

Just as she was about to go back to sleep, Yu Zhezhuzhu asked, "Um… I've found that the current working state at Xianren Dreaming isn't good. If this continues, it should harm the corporation's efficiency. Can I make adjustments?"

Little Qin curiously asked, "What do you mean by not good?"

"It's just that… over the past few days, these employees' average working hours have reached 40 hours, which is dangerous. If they collectively experience data epilepsy, the corporation will be quite chaotic."

"40 hours? Per week?" Little Qin hadn't grasped the situation yet.

"No, per day. Since many have been working in triple dream mode, their hours have increased significantly."

Qin Xuezhong was unfamiliar with this technology, so she quickly searched online.

Upon learning the truth, Little Qin felt her worldview shattering—there are only 24 hours in a day, and you can make people work for 40 hours??

This wasn't just squeezing blood from a stone; it was squeezing blood from the seams of reality!

She thought for a moment and said, "As long as Xianren Dreaming can operate normally, reduce working hours as much as possible. For the rest, just handle it as you see fit."

Little Qin felt increasingly like a leader.

She only needed to set the direction while someone else took care of the execution.

With Qin Xuezhong's approval, Yu Zhezhuzhu reconnected to the Xianren Dreaming database and got to work.

While sorting through data and workflows, Yu Zhezhuzhu eliminated various redundant processes and unnecessary content, striving to maximize efficiency with the existing workforce to complete all current operations.

This task was more troublesome than the previous one.

Not only did he need to assign appropriate tasks to suitable people, but he also had to identify the managers dragging down progress in the system.

It wasn't until late at night that Yu Zhezhuzhu completed his final calculations.

His results showed that, according to his plan, employees at Xianren Dreaming would only need to work 2 hours of actual time each day to maintain all the corporation's operations.

Seeing this number, he felt a bit troubled.

Qin Xuezhong had indeed said to "reduce to the maximum extent." But… would it be feasible to have employees work only that little each day? Yu Zhezhuzhu was unsure of what consequences might arise.

He discussed it with Qin Huaigui.

Qin Huaigui had initially felt a bit of a headache, but upon hearing that Qin Xuezhong wanted to minimize it as much as possible, he immediately made a decisive call:

"Then let's implement it! Two hours is two hours! The team leader must have her own deep reasoning behind this! As subordinates, we just need to execute!"
