Chapter 3 - chapter 3 : Adjusting to Pet Life

Upon getting home, Claire who was dead tired disregard everything around and started undressing.

Aiden stood rooted and stared blanky at the sight, he started bleeding internally before he could register what was going on, Claire hug him in a teddy bear and press his face on her bossom.

' what the fuck, this is dog molesting '

Claire just assumed he was barking for being tired and carried it to the bathroom.

" you want to run? are you afraid of water?" Carlie wanted to catch the dog but he escaped.

Aiden in his dog form was gasping for his breath was caught unprepared, letting out a miserable growl

" did you really think you could escape from me, you are already mine" Carlie was amused by its behavior and couldn't help but shook her head in laughter

....

Finally, escaping from her clutch, Aiden lay shivering on a plush rug in Carlie's opulent bedroom. He had been forced to take a bath with Carlie, a bizarre and humiliating experience that had left him feeling violated and confused. Carlie, completely oblivious to Aiden's true nature, believed that he was simply a dog that she had rescued.

Aiden couldn't understand why Carlie had insisted on bathing with him. It was a strange and unsettling behavior that made him wary of her. He wasn't sure if she was simply eccentric or if there was something more sinister going on.

As Aiden lay there, shivering and trying to warm up, he couldn't help but think about his situation. He was a prisoner in Carlie's home, and he didn't know when, or if, he would ever escape. He was scared and alone, and he didn't know who to turn to for help.

Suddenly, Aiden heard a noise coming from downstairs. It sounded like someone was breaking into the house. He pricked up his ears, trying to listen more closely. The noise was getting louder, and it was clear that whoever was downstairs meant business.

Aiden, still in his canine form, watched in horror as a group of masked men stormed into Carlie's bedroom. He recognized them as werewolf hunters, the same men who had been chasing him for weeks.

Carlie, confused and alarmed, confronted the intruders. "What do you want?" she demanded, her voice trembling.

The men ignored her, their eyes scanning the room. One of them, his voice muffled by his mask, mentioned a "gray dog." Carlie's heart skipped a beat. She knew exactly what they were talking about.

Aiden, realizing that Carlie was in danger, tried to bark a warning. But his voice was muffled by his muzzle, and she couldn't understand him.

The men continued their search, tearing through Carlie's belongings. They found a hidden compartment in the wall, and one of them pulled out a small, glowing object. It was a powerful artifact that Aiden recognized as a werewolf tracking device.

Carlie was shocked and horrified. She had no idea what the men were looking for, or why they were so interested in her home. She tried to protest, but they silenced her with a threat.

Aiden watched helplessly as the men left the room, carrying the artifact with them. He knew that they were after him, and he feared that Carlie would be caught in the crossfire.

As the men disappeared down the stairs, Carlie turned to Aiden. "What is going on?" she asked, her voice filled with fear.

" I don't think he is here " is one of the grumpy men.

" How did he escape, I thought we tracked it to this place" another masked man said.

" let's leave, before the other hunters caught him before us" one who looks like the leader commanded.

As the werewolf hunters made their way down the stairs, Carlie followed them, her voice raised in protest. She demanded to know what they wanted and why they were threatening her.

The men ignored her, their focus solely on escaping with the artifact. They knew that the other hunters were closing in, and they needed to get out of there as quickly as possible.

Aiden watched as Carlie chased after the men, her voice echoing through the house. He knew that she was trying to protect him, and he was determined to do the same for her.

Alone in the house, Aiden felt a sense of peace. For the first time in weeks, he didn't feel hunted or trapped. He was safe, at least for now.

As he wandered through the house, Aiden noticed a window that was slightly ajar. He hesitated for a moment, considering escaping. But then he thought of Carlie. If he left, who would protect her? The werewolf hunters were still out there, and they might return.

With a heavy heart, Aiden decided to stay. He knew that it was dangerous, but he couldn't abandon Carlie. He owed her too much.

As the werewolf hunters disappeared into the night, Carlie turned back to Aiden. She knelt down, her eyes filled with concern. "Are you okay?" she asked, stroking his fur.

Aiden wagged his tail, a silent reassurance. He knew that he was safe as long as he was with Carlie. And for the first time in a long time, he felt a glimmer of hope.

There is one thing which escaped his mind "how come they couldn't find him, despite holding the tracking device?".

.....

Hours passed. When Aiden finally roused, he found himself still lying on the blanket, his body feeling slightly better, though his pride was in tatters. The human sat nearby, watching him with concern in her eyes. She didn't seem to expect anything from him, just kept her distance, waiting.

She noticed his stirring and smiled softly. "You're awake. Good," she said, her voice filled with gentle relief. "I was worried about you."

Aiden huffed, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. If only she knew who he truly was. But then again, maybe it was better this way—hidden in plain sight, waiting for the right moment to regain his strength.

"I don't know where you came from," she said after a while, her voice soft, "but it doesn't matter. You're safe now."

Safe. Aiden scoffed internally. He didn't need safety. He needed power. He needed revenge on the witch who had cursed him and on the hunters who had driven him to this miserable state. But for now, for the first time since the curse, he didn't feel like he was on the verge of collapse.

The woman smiled at him, her eyes gentle. "I guess I'll have to give you a name. How about... Shadow?"

Aiden growled softly, but it was more of a huff. Shadow. How ironic. He had once been a king of the night, feared by all, and now he was a shadow of himself.

Still, as he laid his head back down on the blanket, he couldn't deny that her care, while embarrassing, was a temporary relief. He would regain his strength, and when he did, he would find a way to break this curse. For now, though, he would play the part of the helpless stray. It was his only chance to survive long enough to reclaim what was rightfully his.

As he closed his eyes, the woman stroked his head gently, and for a brief moment, Aiden allowed himself to rest, knowing that the fight would come soon enough.

Aiden lay quietly, his mind still racing. She was kind, but she had no idea what he was. He couldn't afford to stay here long. The curse, the hunters, the witch his enemies were still out there. But for now, he had no choice but to let her help him. If he tried to escape in this state, he wouldn't last another night.

He watched her as she busy herself with her laptop . There was something about her something that unsettled him in a way that had nothing to do with fear or weakness. She had shown him more compassion in a day than most had in his entire life. Yet, he couldn't let his guard down. Not now. Not ever.

As Claire leaned down to scratch behind his ears, she smiled warmly. "You're safe here, Shadow. I'll make sure of that."

Aiden sighed, his body too tired to resist the comfort she offered. He might be a cursed alpha, but for now, he would have to play the part of a helpless stray, at least until he could reclaim his true form.
