ADRIANA'S POV
This had to be one of the weirdest situations I had found myself in.
My feet kept bouncing on the floor in anxiousness as I sat on the couch in the main house, my gaze fixed on the door, waiting.
Waiting for something. Anything.
The man who had come here and saw me with the Cavalieri was outside with Val who had brought me back to the main house before rushing after him and to be honest, I was losing my mind already.
I knew he had to be someone of importance in the family and that alone made me queasy, my last interaction with Vincenzo's family ended up with me passing out and waking up with nightmares.
This man could be no different.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of approaching footsteps and I snapped my gaze back to the door in time to see the man and Val walk in.
Val looked as passive as ever as she leaned against the wall, putting a cigarette between her lips and searching her pockets for a lighter.
