I was on edge, practically holding my breath, waiting for her response. The seconds felt like hours, and my heart raced in my chest. She was sitting there, her eyes locked on mine, a faint smile tugging at her lips, and the silence between us was heavy, thick with tension. I had bared my soul to her. I had let her see the parts of me I never wanted anyone to witness, and now, all I wanted was her answer.
"Adriana..." I murmured, my voice barely a whisper. "Please, just say yes."
She didn't respond immediately. Instead, she tilted her head slightly, as if weighing the words she wanted to say. I could feel the heat rising between us, the space between our bodies growing smaller, even though I knew it wasn't time yet. My pulse quickened, a part of me convinced that this moment would change everything for us.
And then, she did something that almost made me forget to breathe.
