After the last incident, the villagers were utterly disappointed in the current village chief because most of the elders in the village had grown up with the chief, played together as children, and some had even watched the chief grow up.
Now that this had happened, residents were clamoring for a change of village chief, and even Liu Mou's repeated attempts to soothe them were no longer effective, a few days later.
In the village square, some chickens raised by the villagers were leisurely strolling around. The scorching sun above shone as usual, and households of villagers had gathered, each sitting under big parasols, cooling off and waiting for several prestigious elders to take the stage.
After a short while, the elders slowly took to the stage and sat down. After their discussions and the expression of their own views, along with the opinions of the villagers, they all agreed it would be better to elect a new village chief.
