Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 That's the Price

Seeing Sang Xiuli's expression, Liu Mou hurriedly said, "Sister-in-law, don't say such things, maybe Chun Sheng is planning to give you a surprise."

"There's no surprise that's good enough; as long as he can come back, I'll be completely satisfied," sighed Sang Xiuli with a face full of worry.

Liu Mou hurriedly said, "Sister-in-law, with such a good wife as you, which man wouldn't adore you to death? Why would he just up and leave? Look at how beautiful you are, and look at your figure; any man would be moved by you. So, Chun Sheng will not forget you, nor will he abandon you. Rest assured, sister-in-law."

Hearing Liu Mou's words, Sang Xiuli gave a snort of laughter, then gave Liu Mou a glance and muttered, "You little rascal, you're really bad. Have you been using this sweet talk to deceive that young girl and take advantage of her?"

"There you have it, sister-in-law. I'm only speaking the truth. If I were Chun Sheng, I'd hate to be away from you for even a day and would take very good care of you, making sure you're comfortable," Liu Mou chuckled.

Blushing, Sang Xiuli said embarrassedly, "Liu Mou, you've learned to be naughty." She then suddenly remembered something and hurriedly said, "Liu Mou, what brought you to town today? I'll accompany you; let's not delay your business."

Scratching his head, Liu Mou then took out a ginseng and placed it in front of Sang Xiuli.

"Wow, that's ginseng. Liu Mou, you're really something. How did you manage to get this?" Sang Xiuli recognized it at a glance.

"Sister-in-law, good eye. This is a wild ginseng, which I found in the mountains. I came here today to sell it," Liu Mou said proudly.

"Really? Liu Mou, you're really fortunate. I've only heard about people in our village spotting wild ginseng in the mountains, but you're the first to bring one back. That's really impressive, Liu Mou. This must be expensive," Sang Xiuli said appreciatively.

"Well, I don't know how much it will sell for. Let's check it out on the mountain goods street," said Liu Mou as he led Sang Xiuli there.

The area was slow with stalls displaying various goods, all seemingly sourced from the mountains. Of course, distinguishing the real from the fake was up to the buyer, as no one here was obligated to sell only genuine products.

Having found a spot, Liu Mou squatted down and simply watched the passing crowd.

Ever since Liu Mou set up his ginseng, passersby glanced over, but few inquired about the price. Although Liu Mou's ginseng looked quite nice, everyone, seeing a child selling it, suspected it was fake, just a plant that looked very much like ginseng.

Seeing the looks from the people, Sang Xiuli seemed to guess something and said softly to Liu Mou, "Liu Mou, they doubt your ginseng is real. What should we do if this keeps up and no one comes to buy?" Sang Xiuli looked anxious.

Liu Mou just grinned and said, "Sister-in-law, don't worry. Those who have seen my ginseng and hesitate to buy are not experts. Only those who are willing to make a move understand the value, so these people are not likely to find anything good here." Liu Mou was still very confident about his own ginseng.

After a while, though many people looked at the ginseng, few bought it. Just as Sang Xiuli began to worry, suddenly a youthful and beautiful woman approached.

When Liu Mou caught sight of the woman, his eyes immediately lit up, and it wasn't only him—men around him stared openly at her. The woman was sexy and seductive, wearing a miniskirt and black stockings that wrapped around her slender legs, her buttocks provocatively arched, emanating a wild, sensual charm.

Seeing Liu Mou's reaction, Sang Xiuli quickly tugged on his clothes. Liu Mou then sheepishly touched his head. At that moment, the woman approached Liu Mou's stall. When people saw the woman coming, they gradually gathered around.

The woman examined the ginseng laid out on the ground by Liu Mou, then turned her face away, thinking inside, "This is a good piece of ginseng, and it's wild ginseng grown in the mountains. I've found something wonderful this time; I can't let it slip away."

At that moment, the woman smiled and said softly to Liu Mou, "Young man, how did you come by this ginseng?"

Hearing the woman directly mention the ginseng, Liu Mou knew he had encountered a connoisseur. He immediately responded, "I found it accidentally while playing in the mountains, so I dug it up and brought it back."

Upon hearing Liu Mou's words, the people around him burst into scoffing, clearly skeptical of Liu Mou's claim.

Hearing these jeers, Liu Mou remained unfazed and stared straight at the woman in front of him. He knew that if the woman believed what he said, then it was as good as true.

The woman inspected the ginseng carefully and said straightforwardly, "Young man, name your price—I want this ginseng."

Hearing the woman's words, everyone around was stunned. Had this woman lost her senses? It was so obviously fake. How could a young kid stumble upon wild ginseng by chance? She must be incredibly gullible; if that was the case, they'd wish to trick her into becoming their wives.

Seeing her sincerity, Liu Mou wondered, knowing she was an expert by her look, though he couldn't decide on a price for the ginseng. If he asked too little, he would definitely lose out, and if he asked too much, he might scare the buyer away. It was indeed rare to encounter someone knowledgeable.

As Liu Mou pondered, the woman spoke, "Ninety thousand, how about that?"

Hearing this, people around murmured in awe—ninety thousand wasn't a small figure at all. Such a high price had never been seen on this street before.

Liu Mou was also taken aback. Sang Xiuli was so startled that she covered her mouth and whispered urgently into Liu Mou's ear, "Liu Mou, you should accept the offer quickly. This is a high price. If she changes her mind later, you won't find another buyer."

Hearing Sang Xiuli's words, Liu Mou thought the same. He originally wanted fifty thousand, but he also understood these people were extremely cunning. By offering this price, there was still room for an increase, so Liu Mou responded emotionlessly, "One hundred thousand, non-negotiable."

Hearing Liu Mou's words, people around shook their heads helplessly. Maybe the boy wouldn't get a penny—ninety thousand was already a generous offer, and yet he dared to ask for ten thousand more. He must have lost his mind.

But what shocked everyone occurred—without any hesitation, the woman whispered, "Done, follow me now, and I'll transfer the money to you."

Liu Mou was startled, then realized. He was still too naive; clearly, he had underpriced it. But for him, it was already more than satisfying—after all, it was one hundred thousand. He had never seen so much money before.
