Luke threw a glowing stick farther back inside the cave, greenish light revealing the constructs of stonewalls, only a depressing discovery of its dead end. There was nowhere to hide, no path to run. The Bugmen on the portcullis, taking shots with their hunting rifles, hit Calyx on his thigh, limping, and went down behind stone covers, still holding his handgun. Nica and Kristo hunkered down to a small boulder while Luke found his way back, ten meters to where his comrades cowered.
The Bugmen raiding party seemed to increase its numbers. Luke shot his crossbow thrice and only hit once on the forehead. His aim was still groggy and unconfident.
