Chapter 22 - chapter 22

Inside, Peak was locked in a dangerous exchange with Lithium.

He managed to dodge a powerful kick, narrowly evading it. As Lithium's fist shot toward him, Peak grinned, swiftly ducking under it and executing a smooth twist to position himself behind Lithium.

With a fierce punch, Peak struck at Lithium. "Creatures like you deserve a painful death!" he growled, his gaze icy and unyielding.

"I could say the same!" Lithium sneered, delivering a ferocious kick that Peak barely had time to evade.

As Peak backflipped out of range, he glimpsed Lithium's sadistic grin, poised for his next move.

"Impressive reflexes, human!"

Lithium mocked, launching a powerful kick that connected squarely with Peak, sending him crashing downward through multiple floors of the apartment with unstoppable force.

Lithium appeared in mid-air, grinning wildly as Peak continued his uncontrolled descent. "He's insanely fast!" Peak thought, struggling to orient himself as Lithium closed in with lightning speed.

Then, with savage enjoyment, Lithium delivered another brutal kick, this time sending Peak hurtling back up through the building.

He laughed maniacally, toying with Peak like a ping-pong ball, reveling in the destruction he caused as walls splintered and debris flew.

As Peak finally managed to steady himself, he clenched his fists.

"Stone Shower!"

he commanded, summoning chunks of rubble and shattered stones from the crumbling walls, which hovered briefly before flying at Lithium with violent force.

Mini, Peak's dragon, inhaled deeply and ignited the stones with fiery breath, creating a storm of flaming projectiles.

Lithium spread his arms wide, his sheer energy force blasting the stones off course, sending them scattering in all directions.

With a bored yawn, he glanced down at the bloodied and battered Peak, his face showing only contempt.

"I'm bored now," he said lazily, letting a few stones hover ominously beside him, as though waiting for his next command.

"Then again devouring you as my second lunch, doesn't seem like a bad idea!"

His eyes narrowed as he watched Peak with a predatory gleam, his expression unreadable yet terrifyingly calm.

Meanwhile, Peak could barely stand, his vision swimming as he faced Lithium's menacing expression.

"This inn is insane," he thought. "Encountering him on our first mission… this was never supposed to happen."

Just then, a sudden, brutal kick smashed into Peak's face with the force of an immovable object, sending him flying backward.

He collided with Akin, who was charging back into the battle, knocking them both out of the apartment through the walls of other buildings and scattering stones and rubble around them instantly landing in a house collapsing down on them two.

Lithium's laughter rang out, sharp and maniacal, echoing through the air.

"You runt! You traitor to the inns—weak, pathetic so-called inns killer—you're nothing but an obstacle to us!"

He sneered, his eyes darkening as he paused his laughter. "You'll be dead before you can even come close to succeeding."

A twisted smile spread across Lithium's face, his teeth bared in a menacing grin.

"In fact, how about I destroy this whole town with you in it?" His gaze was unhinged, his delight apparent. "After all, I'm sure Grey won't mind a thing."

With a lithium slowly closed his right fist in anticipation and thrill of the impending destruction he was about to unleash while simultaneously controlling Kalè's white flames and Akin's blue flames, merging them under his command.

"Burst!" he shouted, his voice dripping with wicked glee as his right hand slammed shut.

Instantly, the entire town erupted into an inferno of a mix of white and blue resulting in light blue. The Flames swallowed every building, and every street, spreading in an instant and rapidly beyond the town's borders instantly burning everything into ashes.

In the center of the chaos, Lithium strolled through the fire, unscathed, his gaze cold and amused as he chuckled like a madman.

"If you're not dead from this," he sneered, his voice fading as he began to disappear, "then we shall meet again."

His words echoed ominously as his form vanished into the blazing ruins.

"And when we do, I'll make sure you three don't leave alive." His laughter lingered, chilling, as his final thought hung in the air: "Especially you, boy—a fool who wishes to erase his kind from the human world."
