Chereads / “THE END OF THEM” / Chapter 6 - . The Entrance.

Chapter 6 - . The Entrance.

"You're all under arrest!"

Akin, barely conscious and groaning from the pain in his chest, watched as Stanley—a 6'2" man with black hair, golden pupils, and glasses perched on his nose—held a sword to Hickson's neck.

"Why is he here?" Akin thought, bewildered.

Feya, possessing Hickson's body, twisted his face into a look of disgust and annoyance, a terrifying expression that sent a shiver down Akin's spine; he had never imagined Hickson's face could convey such malice.

"Who are you?" Feya demanded, his tone darkening, clearly wounded in his pride.

Feya's anger only intensified at the fact that he hadn't sensed Stanley's presence until the sword touched his neck.

His pride was wounded; he never missed detecting anyone nearby, let alone someone bold enough to place a blade against his neck.

"You can call me Stanley, or Stan the Inns Killer," Stanley said nonchalantly, with his usual calm and playful demeanor.

Almost instantly, he dodged Feya's outstretched hand, which came toward his face with Incredible speed and force.

"Your speed is far too refined for you to be human, Stanley," Feya acknowledged with a faint grin, a thrill sparking within him.

Stanley stood on a tree branch above, looking down coldly, one hand casually in his pocket, the other holding his sword with effortless precision.

"So, judging by that speed. It speeds almost instantly. I'm right?" Feya asked, a knowing look in his eyes as he connected Stanley's agility to someone he had fought in the past.

"Impressive," Stanley remarked, clapping his hands playfully.

He noted Feya's growing irritation and saw Akin trying to sneak up behind, clearly aiming to immobilize Feya.

"Huge mistake, young boy!" Stanley thought with a small smile on his lips.

"Get back down!"

Feya shouted in irritation, kicking Akin with such force that the world seemed slow around akin followed by the pang of the impact on his chest as he saw Hickson's glowing red pupil menacing in rage, then he was sent crashing through the far distance, landing in an instant.

"That's certainly impressive," Stanley said again, but this time his tone was cold as he appeared directly in front of Feya, his gaze piercing.

"I'd love to test your strength before you're arrested. What do you think?" Stanley smiled, his gaze challenging.

Meanwhile, Feya's expression turned dark, annoyed that Stanley was blocking his view of Akin, who he had just sent crashing instantly.

"A bit arrogant for a human, aren't you?" Feya's tone grew sinister, an ominous edge creeping in.

"But fine. I'll gladly serve you your end." The tension between them rose as the wind howled through the trees.

Stanley stood his ground, facing Feya with unwavering confidence.

"Why is he this fast if he's just a human?" Feya wondered, his calculating gaze narrowing. "Most Inns killers are just… are just demented death wishers.."

"but him?"

Then, before Feya could finish his thought, a fist was already inches from his face, moving with tremendous force along ferocious wind.

Feya dodged swiftly, but the ground behind him shattered from the impact, sending a powerful gust of wind that pushed him back.

"He... he!" Feya broke into manic laughter, his excitement brimming as he watched the human's display of strength.

"Now that is what I'm talking about!"

He skidded backward, but then came to a sudden halt, balancing easily on one leg, unfazed by the ferocious wind whipping around him.

"I'm always bored by one side massacres and pathetic humans calling themselves inns killers and can't even put up a fight! But you…" Feya tore off Hickson's shirt, revealing his intense, menacing grin as he fixed his eyes on Stanley. "You're certainly worth my attention."

"Oh, thanks! I didn't realize you thought so highly of me," Stanley replied with a faint, sarcastic smile, unfazed by Feya's manic grin.

Just then, Stanley heard Akin's faint, weak voice calling out in warning.

"Watch out! He's behind—"

Akin's words were cut short by a deafening boom as a fierce gust of wind surged past him, forcing him to shield himself behind a tree.

Feya's kick had struck the ground with such force that it cracked, sending shockwaves rippling through the area. Akin braced himself, gripping the tree trunk tightly as the force threatened to knock him over.

As the dust began to settle, Akin looked up, only to be shocked at the sight of Stanley. Standing unharmed on a high tree branch, Stanley smirked down, not a scratch on him, despite the scattered debris from Feya's fierce attack.

"I'm fully aware of my surroundings, Akin," Stanley said, smiling confidently at Akin's astonishment.

At the same moment, he sensed Feya's leg sweeping toward him from behind with tremendous speed and power with powerful wind blowing ferociously alongside Stanley's hair.

"What can I say? I guess I'm just way too powerful." Stanley, maintaining his playful demeanor, dodged the kick almost effortlessly and landed back on the ground.

With every rapid punch and kick that Feya threw, Stanley evaded each attack by swiftly moving to different positions, dodging Feya's strikes without breaking a sweat.

The ground beneath them was riddled with cracks, and most of the trees had been knocked down or uprooted by Feya's relentless assaults.

"This human…" Feya thought, grinning in sheer thrill.

But then, with a sudden, powerful punch, he aimed directly at Stanley's face hoping in bursting Stanley's head in disintegration only left his body with splashing blood from Stanley's disintegrated head.

Just as Feya's punch connected, he realized Stanley had blocked it with his sword, deflecting the forceful blow.

A ferocious wind gusted around them from the impact, sending tree around their radius off in disintegration, While Stanley held his ground, unshaken.

"I take it back—I'm very impressed by you!" Feya laughed maniacally, his grin widening as he met Stanley's steady, unyielding gaze.

"He's very aware of his surroundings indeed!" Feya thought, a trace of admiration creeping in as he felt a thrill at the idea of Stanley pushing him harder into his full strength.

Noting that Stanley focused intently on defense, as though he could anticipate every attack around him, Feya was intrigued. Compared to his offensive moves, Stanley's defenses seemed nearly impenetrable.

"Though I'm not yet at full capacity, and capability because of this wretched barrier within the human body," Feya mused,

"I'll take this opportunity to study him more."

Feya felt a surge of excitement as he watched Stanley's golden pupils begin to glow menacingly, a signal that he, too, was preparing to get serious.

The thrill spiked within Feya, sending him into a fit of manic laughter, charged with anticipation. But just as he laughed, ready to escalate the battle, his laughter abruptly choked off.

Stanley's sword had sliced so close that it clipped a strand of Feya's hair—a precision that jolted him, made worse by Hickson's sudden struggle to regain control.

"What are you waiting for?" Stanley taunted, a faint smirk on his cold face, as he stood back-to-back with Feya, their proximity intensifying the tension until it felt almost suffocating.

"What are you doing?!" Feya roared internally, grappling with Hickson's attempts to reclaim control at a crucial moment.

"Please kill me… I'm begging you…" Hickson's voice broke through, struggling to force his will against Feya's.

Stanley paused, his blade intently hot inches from Feya's neck. He let go of his menacing stance, watching with a calm intensity as the battle for control played out.

Feya, furious, slapped Hickson's face hard enough to draw blood, desperate to stop him from gaining any ground.

"So it's true…" Stanley murmured, his eyes narrowing as he observed with fascination.

A memory flickered in his mind—of someone telling him how the inns could possess anyone, be they children or adults.

With a snap of his fingers, Stanley reaffirmed the grim reality before him.

"GET THE HELL OUT OF ME, YOU!"
