The voice of Jiang Fugui came through, followed by a root wrapped in black cloth extending from the doorway. Then, Jiang Fugui entered the room, cautiously adjusting its angle before placing it on the ground.

In Bianjing, armor is the primary prohibition, crossbows are second, and knives, spears, swords, and halberds are third.
The first two are only stored in the armory; ordinary imperial guards wouldn't necessarily have them. Armor wore only started to be permitted by the court in response to frequent civil unrest in the last two years. While knives, spears, swords, and halberds were also banned, supervision was lax, and they could still be obtained.
