Chapter 135: Exiting the Stele Space
After the mysterious skeleton departed, Lin Langtian also left the underground palace. Having acquired one hundred thousand Nirvana Pills and the powerful curse energy as his new trump card, he was more than satisfied. Although the underground palace might still hold some hidden treasures, Lin Langtian quickly abandoned that idea. Greed often leads to ruin, and triggering another ancient curse like the last one was a risk he was unwilling to take.
As he exited the palace, the entire Stele Space felt tense and ominous. Above, dark clouds gathered and churned, and within them, a small figure raced through the sky atop a storm. Everywhere this figure went, any nearby strong cultivators would suddenly explode into a mist of blood without the figure even seeming to make a move.
"It's that mysterious skeleton—it's still chasing after them!" Lin Langtian murmured, watching the figure gliding on the storm. While the skeleton showed him no hostility thanks to the Black-Eyed Elder's token, it showed no mercy to the others. With its immense power, even figures at the peak of the Creation Realm or Nirvana-level fighters like Lin Fan were nothing more than ants to be crushed.
The situation resembled a dragon chasing down helpless sheep, wiping them out with a mere gesture.
"It's K'er and the others…" Lin Langtian suddenly noticed that Lin K'er and several younger members of his clan were fleeing in panic. With a sigh, he leapt forward and quickly appeared beside them.
"Who—Brother Langtian, you're here! But hurry... we need to run!" Lin K'er and the others' eyes brightened at the sight of him, but the terror of the relentless skeleton sent them back into panic.
"There's no need to worry; the skeleton has already gone," Lin Langtian said, chuckling and shaking his head.
Lin K'er and her group exchanged doubtful looks before turning to confirm that the skeleton and its terrifying aura had indeed vanished.
"Wait...Brother Langtian, did you scare it away?" Lin K'er asked in shock, staring at him.
The others looked at him in disbelief. Defeating the guardian beast was one thing, but facing down a creature that even their clan's patriarch couldn't handle? That seemed impossible.
Lin Langtian simply smiled and shook his head. "Let's not overthink it. It may have just left to deal with other intruders," he said lightly. "Where is Elder Lin Luo? I don't see him here."
"The skeleton was killing everyone in its path. Elder Lin Luo went with the others to locate weak points in the space to tear open an exit," Lin K'er replied, still dazed.
Lin Langtian nodded and glanced around, soon spotting groups from the four major clans and the Great Demon Gate among those hurrying in the same direction. Although the Stele Space had multiple exits, this seemed to be the closest, and it appeared that the four clans were now attempting to breach it to escape this perilous place.
Taking the lead, Lin Langtian gestured for Lin K'er and the others to follow. He felt no personal threat from the skeleton, thanks to the elder's token, but he'd already gained what he needed. There was no reason to stay any longer.
As they arrived, they found groups already surrounding a large mountain peak. Several powerful cultivators gathered there were focusing their energy, creating a tear in the sky above. Within moments, they had successfully opened a spatial rift.
"Go!" the leaders of the major clans and their allies commanded, stabilizing the portal. Those from the clans quickly began to pass through.
"Everyone else, stay back!" some of the powerful clan elders ordered, reinforcing their stance with surges of energy that blocked access to the mountain.
"Damn it, you bastards!" someone shouted.
"Everyone, charge through!" another yelled, but the combined force of the four clans quickly repelled anyone attempting to force their way in.
"Brother Langtian, K'er, you've arrived! Good, hurry up and get through!" Elder Lin Luo called out, visibly relieved upon seeing them.
Lin Luo felt immense relief as Lin Langtian appeared. While it would be unfortunate if Lin K'er and the others were harmed, Lin Langtian was the most talented member the Lin Clan had seen in centuries. Losing him here would make him the clan's greatest failure.
Lin Langtian nodded and was about to pass through the portal when he noticed a familiar figure racing toward them. It was none other than Lin Dong, accompanied by his beast companions.
"Elder Lin Luo, please allow Lin Dong to come through as well," Lin Langtian requested, gesturing toward him.
Elder Lin Luo followed his gaze and saw Lin Dong. He nodded in approval; as a young talent from a branch family, Lin Dong was an asset to the clan.
"Thank you, Brother Langtian, Elder Lin Luo!" Lin Dong replied gratefully.
"No need for thanks, but don't forget our agreement, Lin Dong," Lin Langtian replied with a slight smile before vanishing into the spatial rift.
Lin K'er and the others glanced curiously at Lin Langtian and Lin Dong before stepping into the portal themselves.
Lin Dong's expression turned thoughtful as he watched Lin Langtian disappear, while his companion, Xiao Yan, transformed into a flash of red light, guiding them into the portal and out of the Stele Space.
