Chapter 132: The Sect's Treasure
Seeing the massive dark prison in the sky and feeling the surge of energy from Lin Dong, Lin Langtian understood that Lin Dong had also managed to connect with the spirit of the Stele and had gained significant rewards. Lin Langtian wasn't surprised by this. However, he was a bit curious—between the Great Desolate God-Crushing Palm and the Great Desolate Prison Finger, which one of these Spirit-level martial arts would prove superior?
While Lin Langtian pondered this, the spirit of the Stele sent both him and Lin Dong another vision, showing them a vast underground palace. The palace's halls were filled with immense amounts of energy, and in the air hovered thousands upon thousands of crimson elixirs. Every one of these pills contained the immensely valuable Nirvana energy.
Seeing this, Lin Langtian's interest piqued, a flash of excitement gleaming in his eyes. With his recent breakthrough to the peak of the Creation Stage, he was ready to attempt the half-step Nirvana stage, and these Nirvana Pills were exactly what he needed.
"Although…" Lin Langtian's thoughts turned serious as his vision shifted to the center of the palace. There, resting within the grand hall, was an enormous, ancient beast exuding a menacing aura, clearly assigned to guard the treasure. Perched above the hall on a stone throne was a tall, skeleton-like figure, cloaked in an aura that radiated danger even in death.
Sensing the power of the guardian beast and the skeleton, Lin Langtian's excitement dimmed slightly. This ancient sect's treasure was not going to be easy to acquire. Yet, a glimmer of confidence returned to his face as he considered something. He possessed an item that could very well ensure the success of this mission.
Just then, the lingering dark light in the sky began to fade, and the extraordinary phenomena dissipated completely. As Lin Langtian came back to his senses, he noticed that the entire square had fallen into silence. The crowd's eyes were locked onto him, filled with awe and amazement at his earlier display of power.
Lin Langtian's expression remained calm and indifferent. Just as he was about to leave the stone platform, he noticed a steady gaze directed toward him—Lin Dong's.
"Lin Langtian lives up to his reputation," Lin Dong thought, clenching his fists. He knew that he had only managed to obtain the Great Desolate Prison Finger with the help of his stone talisman, which had helped him locate and communicate with the spirit of the Stele. Yet, Lin Langtian appeared to have established contact with the Stele's spirit even before he did, and had obtained martial arts that seemed stronger than his own.
Even as Lin Dong's mind grappled with the pressure, his determination and fighting spirit intensified. Then he heard a familiar voice speak directly into his mind.
"Lin Dong, once the Ancient Tablet's space disperses, don't leave right away. There's something I want to discuss with you."
Startled, Lin Dong looked toward the elegant, robed figure nearby. He realized that this message had come from none other than Lin Langtian. Although he didn't know what Lin Langtian wanted, Lin Dong had come to understand that Lin Langtian wasn't the type to plot or deceive. After a brief moment of consideration, he nodded. He was curious to find out what Lin Langtian had in mind.
Seeing Lin Dong agree, Lin Langtian's lips curved into a small smile. He was seeking Lin Dong's help to unlock the seal on the Devouring Ancestral Symbol, allowing him to use the Golden Spirit Wheel Mirror to duplicate it. The thought of having a duplicate of the Devouring Ancestral Symbol in his possession filled him with anticipation.
Turning away, Lin Langtian suddenly narrowed his eyes, his figure darting into the sky. Under the crowd's watchful and astonished gaze, he gathered his energy and unleashed a powerful strike toward the stone platform below.
Now that he had reached the peak of the Creation Stage, Lin Langtian's power had multiplied many times over. A single punch from him now would force even a half-step Nirvana expert to take him seriously.
"Boom!"
As Lin Langtian's fierce attack erupted on the stone platform, the crowd scattered, surprised by the intensity of his power. Many marveled at his strength—Lin Langtian truly lived up to his reputation.
At the same time, the Four Great Clans seemed to anticipate what was happening. Dozens of strong figures moved to join Lin Langtian in assaulting the platform. The combined force of these attacks soon caused deep cracks to form across the platform, triggering a series of deafening explosions. The huge square started collapsing, forcing everyone to retreat and seek safety on nearby mountain peaks and trees.
As the smoke and dust settled, the onlookers finally understood what lay below. It seemed the space of the Ancient Tablet concealed the hidden treasure of an ancient sect directly beneath their feet!
"Wait—is this the treasure of the ancient sect in the Ancient Tablet space?!"
"Trust the Four Great Clans to know exactly where to look! But why didn't they keep it to themselves?"
"Are you kidding? The Four Great Clans may be powerful, but look at all the skilled cultivators here. If they tried to keep this treasure to themselves, it would trigger an all-out war, one even they might not survive!"
As the whispers spread throughout the crowd, excitement grew. While only ten people could gain enlightenment from the Creation Martial Stele, the sect's treasure could offer a reward to anyone lucky enough to claim it.
In the sky above, Lin Langtian paused, his gaze locked on the massive square below as the smoke and dust continued to rise. After a moment, his pupils contracted, and he shot forward, signaling his Golden Crow to follow. Just then, a monstrous roar erupted from beneath the platform, echoing with a primal rage from ancient times. The roar was followed by a surge of fearsome energy, so overwhelming it made the faces of everyone present turn pale.
The guardian of the ancient sect's treasure had been awakened.
