Chapter 110: The Sacred Clan's Treasure

"This energy belongs to… the Extradimensional Evil Race!" Ling Yi muttered, a flicker of disgust passing through her eyes as she looked around the mirror world filled with demonic energy.

As a member of the Nine Nether Firebird Clan, a powerful species in the Great Thousand World, Ling Yi was all too familiar with the Evil Race. Her kind had fought against them for generations, with many of her ancestors having fallen to their hands. Her hatred for the Evil Race was deep-rooted and intense.

"What dense demonic energy… Could it be that the Golden Spirit Mirror's creator was not human? Could this mirror actually be a treasure of the Evil Race?" Ling Yi's gaze darkened as she scanned the eerie surroundings, her expression showing a trace of dread.

If that were the case, she had made a huge mistake. She had fought tooth and nail against an ancient Skyhawk Clan warrior for a treasure of the Evil Race, which ultimately cost her physical form.

"No wonder this mirror's origins were so mysterious, with no one on that entire continent knowing much about it," she thought, her expression filled with regret. She had acted out of greed after hearing about the mirror's unique abilities. But if she'd known it was from the Evil Race, she would have kept her distance, avoiding the desperate struggle that had cost her everything.

"A treasure of the Evil Race?"

Lin Langtian was surprised by her words. He had initially thought that the Evil Race had merely invaded the mirror's world, but now he learned that the mirror itself was originally their treasure. His confusion only deepened. For some reason, he didn't feel any malice from the Golden Spirit Mirror or the demonic energy surrounding him.

"This mirror is not a good thing, little one. You should destroy it," Ling Yi advised, her eyes narrowing in concern.

"Destroy it?" Lin Langtian repeated, hesitating. "Why, Elder Ling? The Golden Spirit Mirror…"

Before he could finish, she interrupted, her voice cold. "Do you know what the Evil Race is capable of? Do you understand how many beings in the Great Thousand World have perished at their hands? And how many worlds like yours have been destroyed by them? The Evil Race is an unspeakable evil, and this mirror is just as dangerous."

Lin Langtian fell silent. He understood the threat of the Evil Race well enough; even his own Tianxuan Continent was under the constant threat of invasion from a branch of the Evil Race, the Demonic Tribe. If they succeeded, every living thing on the continent would perish.

But the Evil Race was the Evil Race, and the Golden Spirit Mirror was the Golden Spirit Mirror. Even in his previous life, he had never heard of punishing a weapon for the sins of its wielder.

Lin Langtian had an unshakable feeling that the Golden Spirit Mirror was going to be an invaluable ally on his journey to becoming a powerful fighter—perhaps even more vital than Ling Yi.

"Elder Ling, the Golden Spirit Mirror is just an object. It's not one of the Evil Race, and I can control it," he said, his voice calm and resolute.

Ling Yi fixed him with a serious look, saying, "Do you realize this mirror is an Evil Race artifact? None of its previous owners spread the truth of its origins. Either they were blinded by greed or corrupted by the demonic energy. Every one of those owners was a top-tier warrior on the continent, far more powerful than you. Are you certain you can control the mirror without being consumed by its dark energy?"

Lin Langtian fell silent again, though his gaze remained unwavering. He understood Elder Ling's caution, but something inside him told him he was different from the mirror's previous owners. The previous wielders might have possessed it, but he felt he had genuinely mastered it.

He lifted his hand, and a stream of icy, terrifying demonic energy swirled around his fingers like a playful fish, posing no harm to him. This deadly energy didn't affect him at all.

Even Elder Ling's eyes widened slightly at this sight. She knew that even she needed her black flames to keep the demonic energy at bay.

Though Lin Langtian was far from Elder Ling's strength, he recognized that much fear comes from the unknown. Ling Yi's hatred for the Evil Race was partly rooted in that same fear.

But Lin Langtian understood them well, perhaps better than anyone else in the Great Thousand World. He knew that the Evil Race wasn't simply a mindless, murderous force but a race of intelligent beings, just like humans or beasts.

The Evil Race had another name—the Sacred Clan.

Eons ago, in the distant Tianyuan Realm, before life began, the first race to emerge was the Sacred Clan. With exceptional talents and strength, they ruled the primal era, dominating and enslaving all other species. In time, however, other races rebelled and fought for their freedom. Though they broke free from enslavement, the Sacred Clan retained its status as a superior and untouchable race.

Most creatures of the Tianyuan Realm were born from the body of the Ancestral Dragon, but the Sacred Clan was not; they were created by the Holy God. After the Holy God was killed by Yuan Zun Zhou Yuan, the remnants of the Sacred Clan fled the Tianyuan Realm, eventually producing the Heavenly Demon, or Minor Holy God, and began their invasion of the Great Thousand World. Here, they became known as the Evil Race.

Because he knew the Evil Race's history so well, Lin Langtian could see them rationally. The Evil Race was ruthless, but that didn't mean their treasures were evil by nature.

Power, after all, was neither good nor evil.

Lin Langtian intended to harness that power, making it his own.
