Chapter 51: Essence Power
"Four-Seal Symbol Master!" Lin Langtian couldn't help but let a smile spread across his face as he felt the advancement in his Symbol Master level. In less than a year, he had progressed from a novice to a Four-Seal Symbol Master—a truly remarkable pace.
Yet despite his satisfaction, he didn't allow himself to grow overly complacent. He knew that while his own talent had accelerated this achievement, two key factors had also made this quick progression possible.
The first factor was the Black Swirl Spirit Seal he had acquired by chance, which originated from the Devouring Ancestral Symbol. With this spirit seal as his core, Lin Langtian's starting point was far ahead of many Symbol Masters. Additionally, the unique power of the Black Swirl Spirit Seal to absorb spiritual energy had granted him exponential benefits.
The second factor was the Golden Spirit Wheel Realm's sealed spiritual power. When he inherited the formidable spiritual energy of a low-level Spirit Symbol Master, it became his personal reservoir, allowing him to train continuously and quickly enhance his spiritual abilities. Together, these advantages had enabled him to reach the Four-Seal level in under a year—an achievement impossible for most.
He stretched, feeling invigorated by his enhanced mental strength. With the unusual properties of his Black Swirl Spirit Seal, Lin Langtian felt that, although he was technically a Four-Seal Symbol Master, his spiritual energy likely rivaled that of some low-level Spirit Symbol Masters.
This power alone would make him a prominent contender in the upcoming Tower Battle.
With his spiritual energy greatly boosted, Lin Langtian allowed himself a moment to savor the accomplishment. Then, he closed his eyes and directed his consciousness to his dantian, focusing on the mysterious Golden Spirit Wheel Realm.
According to Ling Yi, the Golden Spirit Wheel Realm possessed a unique power of fusion, able to merge multiple types of energy to create a formidable force. Such an ability was comparable to the ancient artifact ranked fifth on the legendary artifacts list: the Universal Array Plate.
Currently, he wielded black flame power, but he also had his internal powers of spiritual energy and elemental energy. If he could fuse these into Essence Power, his combat strength would soar to a new level.
With a wry smile, he dismissed all hesitation and began channeling his spiritual and elemental energy into the Golden Spirit Wheel Realm.
"Hiss!"
As the two energies poured in, the mirror briefly flickered with light, only to quickly dim and fade out.
"Hmm…" Lin Langtian was taken aback. "It's no use; the elemental energy is too strong. To fuse two types of power, they need to be perfectly balanced." His brows furrowed as he analyzed his failure. The issue was that his elemental energy far outweighed his spiritual energy, which threw off the delicate balance needed for fusion.
He chuckled, shaking his head. "Seems like I'll need to keep practicing until I master that balance if I want to harness Essence Power."
Achieving this balance was no small feat, involving principles that mirrored the profound harmony of nature itself. However, the prospect of wielding fused power was far too alluring to abandon. Determined to succeed, Lin Langtian resumed his efforts to strike the balance between the energies he channeled.
Finding this equilibrium wasn't easy. After dozens of failed attempts, Lin Langtian's face grew more serious. His determination was unshaken; he wasn't one to give up easily. For an entire day, he remained in deep concentration, tirelessly channeling elemental and spiritual energies into the Golden Spirit Wheel Realm.
Through countless repetitions, he began to glimpse faint traces of balance. As with all things, mastery required repetition. After hundreds of failures, patterns started to emerge.
"Hiss!"
Watching the Golden Spirit Wheel flicker out yet again, Lin Langtian didn't grow impatient. His gaze remained steady as he prepared for another attempt. Channeling both elemental and spiritual energy simultaneously, he pushed them carefully into the Golden Spirit Wheel Realm.
"Flicker!"
The Golden Spirit Wheel glowed momentarily. This time, as Lin Langtian braced himself for another failure, the mirror emitted a brilliant flash. Slowly, an eerie yet powerful energy radiated from within it.
Upon the mirror's surface, an orb of energy formed, about the size of a fist and shimmering with a unique color that seemed almost chaotic.
"This is Essence Power!" Lin Langtian could feel the orb's immense destructive force, a power far greater than that of pure spiritual or elemental energy alone. He finally understood how Lin Dong from his past timeline had wielded this power so effortlessly to overcome even stronger foes.
At his current strength, even without relying on any special abilities, this Essence Power alone could put him on par with a small-level Creation Master. Such was the terror of fusion power!
In the future, if he could merge his black flame power as well, his combined strength would be even more astonishing.
Of course, while the strength of fused power was considerable, so too was the energy it consumed. The vast amounts of elemental and spiritual energy Lin Langtian had used produced only a fist-sized orb of Essence Power.
"The power is impressive. I can't help but wonder what other secrets the Golden Spirit Wheel Realm holds," Lin Langtian mused as he savored the Essence Power's potency. According to Ling Yi, the mirror possessed even more formidable abilities, which only heightened Lin Langtian's curiosity. He longed to see all of the mirror's secrets revealed.
However, he reminded himself to be patient. Even if he knew more of its abilities, his current power level might not allow him to fully exploit them. He would uncover the mysteries of the mirror in due time.
Stepping outside, Lin Langtian took a steadying breath and focused his gaze to the north, where Lin City's Symbol Master Guild was located.
Though he was the strongest young talent in the Lin Clan, as well as one of its enforcers, the Symbol Master Guild had a strict neutral stance, refraining from involvement in the clan's internal power struggles. Thus, if he wanted to participate in the Tower Battle, he'd need the permission of the guild's president, Elder Lin Mo.
Though he didn't know Lin Mo well, Lin Langtian was confident in his abilities and had no doubt that his qualifications would allow him to compete.
With a slight smile, Lin Langtian took a deep breath and set off toward the north end of Lin City.
