Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Unexpected Assistance

A few weeks later, Emily, who was meditating by the window, received a reply from her aunt. The letter not only brought a small check, but also invited her to live with her in Scotland. She sat by the window of the sewing workshop, holding the thin but meaningful check in her hand, with mixed emotions in her heart. The sun shone through the window, sprinkled on her blonde hair, and coated her face with a warm halo.

Emily's heart was full of gratitude for her aunt's generosity, but at the same time, she was also reluctant to leave the town where she had lived for many years. There were too many of her memories here, her failures, her hopes, and her struggles. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself down.

She stood up and began to pack her luggage. Every piece of clothing, every book, and every photo carried her memories. Her fingers gently slid over those familiar items, and her heart was full of expectations for the future and nostalgia for the past.

Emily's luggage was not much, but she carefully selected each item. She picked up a worn leather-bound journal that her mother had left her, which recorded her childhood and teenage dreams. She gently stroked the cover and carefully placed it in the suitcase.

Then she selected a few of her favorite designs that had never been favored by the market, but to her, they were a testament to her talent and hard work. She folded them carefully and put them in the corner of the suitcase, hoping to find someone who would appreciate them in Scotland.

Emily also selected some of her favorite books, which accompanied her through many lonely nights and brought her knowledge and comfort. She put them one by one in the suitcase, as if preparing for the upcoming journey.

Finally, she picked up a photo of her and her late father, who was smiling in the photo, his eyes full of love and pride for her. Emily's eyes welled up, and she gently kissed the photo before putting it in the deepest part of the suitcase.

Emily stood at the door of the workshop and looked around the place where she had poured so much effort for the last time. Her design sketches hung on the wall and her tools were placed on the table. Everything seemed so familiar and intimate. She took a deep breath and tried to imprint everything here deeply in her heart.

She closed the door, handed the key to the neighbors, and asked them to help take care of the place. The neighbors smiled and agreed, and their blessings and encouragement filled Emily's heart with warmth. Emily set out on the road to the train station. On the streets of the town, people waved goodbye to her. She smiled and responded, her heart full of gratitude. She knew that no matter where she went, this town would always be her home.

In the train station, the crowd was bustling, and Emily dragged her suitcase, her heart full of expectations for the unknown and reluctance to the past. She found her seat, settled her luggage, and sat down. The train started slowly, and Emily looked at the town outside the window gradually going away, her heart full of complicated emotions. She didn't know what would be waiting for her in Scotland, but she knew that she had to face it bravely. The train passed through the green fields and the edge of the town, and Emily's heart was full of longing for the future. She closed her eyes and let the shaking of the train take her into sleep. In her dream, she saw her new life in Scotland, which was full of hope and possibility.

Benjamin strolled in the garden of the manor, his thoughts like entangled vines, tangled and complicated. The afterglow of the setting sun sprinkled on the neatly trimmed lawn, giving everything a golden coating. His eyes inadvertently fell on Emily, who was standing in front of a bunch of blooming roses, her fingers gently touching the petals, as if talking to the flowers.

His steps involuntarily approached her, and the sense of loss in his heart became stronger. The news that Emily was about to leave was like a stone thrown into a calm lake, stirring ripples in his heart. He tried to hide his emotions, but in Emily's eyes, he saw a hint of firmness. Her determination was as clear and unshakable as her figure.

They sat down on a bench in the garden, surrounded by blooming roses and lavender, the fragrance of flowers mixed with the smell of soil, making people feel relaxed and happy. Benjamin whispered, "Emily, I know you have to go, but I hope you can come back safely."

Emily held his hand and smiled, "Benjamin, thank you for your help and support. I will come back with new stories and hope."

Their eyes met in the garden, and the flowers around them seemed to bloom for their blessings. The light of the setting sun passed through the gaps in the leaves, sprinkled on them in patches, and coated their figures with a warm halo.

Emily's heart was full of expectations for the future, but there was also a trace of fear of the unknown. She knew that this trip to Scotland was not only for her own future, but also for the safety of the town. She took a deep breath, letting the fragrance of flowers and soil fill her chest, trying to draw strength from it.

She stood up and looked around. Every tree and every flower in the garden seemed so kind. She remembered every spring, summer, autumn and winter she spent here, and each season had different colors and breath. She knew that no matter where she went, this garden, this town, would be her eternal home in her heart.

Emily turned to face Benjamin, her eyes full of gratitude and determination. "Benjamin, I will miss everything here." Benjamin nodded, his eyes full of understanding and respect.

As night fell, the flowers in the garden looked more mysterious and beautiful in the moonlight. Benjamin and Emily sat quietly on the bench, enjoying the tranquility. They talked about the past of the town and shared each other's dreams and hopes.

Benjamin took a small amulet from his pocket and handed it to Emily. "This is what my grandmother left me. It once protected her through many difficulties. Now, I hope it can bring you good luck."

Emily took the amulet, and tears of emotion flashed in her eyes. "Thank you, Benjamin. I will cherish it, just like cherishing our friendship."

They shook hands again, and then Emily stood up and prepared to leave. Her figure gradually disappeared into the night, leaving Benjamin sitting alone on the bench, his heart full of complicated emotions.

Benjamin sat quietly in the garden until the night completely enveloped the entire manor. He knew that Emily's departure would bring new changes to the town, but he also believed that her return would bring new hope.

Sophia was busy in the kitchen of the manor, preparing for the upcoming banquet. Her cooking skills are well-known in the family, and every dish is her respect for ingredients and pursuit of taste. The kitchen was filled with the aroma of baked bread and stewed meat, which made people salivate.

Sophia was in a good mood because she knew Alex would be there. She hoped that through this opportunity, he would see her sincerity and enthusiasm. She carefully prepared every dish and every dessert, hoping that these delicacies could touch his heart.

Her mood was complicated. On the one hand, she was grateful for Benjamin's help, and on the other hand, her affection for Alex was quietly growing. She knew that this banquet might be her chance to show herself to Alex.

Night slowly fell, the sky turned from dark blue to ink black, and stars began to embellish it, as if countless diamonds were inlaid on the sky. Alex stood alone in the farm field, surrounded by fields of wheat that were about to mature, swaying gently in the night wind, making rustling sounds, as if telling an ancient secret.

The moonlight sprinkled on the wheat field, coating the golden ears of wheat with a layer of silver, making the whole wheat field seem to be shrouded in mysterious magic. The wheat waves rose and fell in the moonlight, like waves, one after another, extending to the distance. Alex's figure seemed particularly lonely in this sea of wheat. His eyes passed through the wheat field, as if he was looking for something, perhaps looking for answers to solve the problem, or perhaps looking for inner peace.

Although the wheat field looked so peaceful and beautiful in the moonlight, Alex's heart was full of worries. He was worried about the upcoming harvest season, the unpredictable weather, the fluctuations in market prices, and even more worried about the family curse and future destiny. These worries were like shadows in the night, following him closely and making it difficult for him to sleep.

He stroked the full ears of wheat, feeling their texture in his hands. This was the result of his hard work for a year and his commitment to the land. However, even at the moment of harvest, he could not completely relax because too many uncertainties made him anxious. Alex knew that farmers' lives were always closely connected with nature, and they had to learn to find ways to survive in the ever-changing nature.

There was a hint of coolness in the night wind. Alex tightened his coat and continued to wander in the wheat field. His figure was stretched out in the moonlight, intertwined with the shadow of the wheat field. His inner struggle was fierce. On the one hand, he longed for the joy and satisfaction brought by the harvest; on the other hand, he was afraid that those uncontrollable factors would destroy it all.

However, in this quiet night, Alex gradually found a little comfort. The tranquility of the wheat field, the gentle breeze of the night wind, and the bright starry sky above his head all silently told him that no matter how many challenges life brings, this land and nature are always worthy of awe and cherishment. He took a deep breath and let the fresh night air fill his chest. He decided not to be troubled by worries anymore, but to face everything that was coming bravely.

Alex looked up at the starry sky, and the twinkling stars seemed to assure him that no matter how long the night was, dawn would always come. New strength and determination surged in his heart, and he would meet every dawn and challenge with this wheat field. The wheat field under the night witnessed his determination and his indissoluble bond with the land. He knew that he had to find a way to solve the family secret as soon as possible, otherwise his life and the honor of his family would be threatened.

His eyes fell on the distant horizon, and the afterglow of the sunset dyed the sky golden. He took a deep breath and tried to find a little comfort from this peaceful rural scenery. But his heart could not calm down, and the family secret was like a heavy stone pressing on his chest.

He returned to the study and opened the old family diary, trying to find some clues from it. He knew that this secret might be related to his fate and the future of his family.

As night falls, Emily, Benjamin, Sofia and Alex are all worried about their future. It seems that their lives have reached a turning point and they must make choices that will determine their fate.
