We finished the meal in silence, I was already emotionally tired and just wanted the whole thing to be over, so I could be free of Declan.
I could feel the awkward air between us. It had never been like this between the both of us before, meals between the both of us used to be filled with laughter and jokes. Now an awkward air hung between us and it broke my heart.
He looked at me after paying the bill, his blue eyes which were once filled with love for me contained disinterest and poorly veiled resentment now.
"Let's head over to the court, It's almost time for the divorce hearing." He stood, adjusting his jacket.
I nodded and stood as well, together we left the restaurant.
We drove our cars to the court.
We arrived at the court where our lawyers were waiting for us.
Our final divorce hearing started, and I hardly heard anything the judge said. I was in a daze throughout the whole thing.
