Daisy's POV
I have no idea how or when I had been able to get some sleep but I stir awake from the constant vibration of my phone.
"Daisy, we have like a hundred press invites and almost every news channel reporting on your marriage to Mr Ellington."
I sit up abruptly at her words, my sleep clearing at the blink of an eye.
Oh, yes. Declan couldn't even wait a day to make my life miserable. I was back in one day and he couldn't wait to tattle to the press about us being married.
There's a million thoughts running through my head and another part of my mind that's solely mad at him. However, I couldn't focus on Declan just yet.
I couldn't let him destroy everything that I had built in the last five years.
I took a deep sigh before replying, "Decline all the press invites and send an impromptu notice to our lawyers. I would be there soon."
Morning showers are one of my favorite things. The time I spend letting the water run through me while my mind run through things. But this morning, my mind is way too clouded.
I'm out of the shower in less than twenty and I dress very quickly. There were going to be press all around. The last thing I wanted was appearing on cover pages looking shabby.
After choosing one of my designer suit dresses, I pack my hair in a tight bun and do some light makeup.
"Mommy!" Rigel yells while rushing into my room. My heart melts like everytime and I lower myself into a crouch in front of him.
"Looks like someone is up early," I teased while tapping his nose.
Rigel giggles, the beautiful sound lightening my mood and without thinking, I pull him into a tight hug.
"Mommy loves you, okay?"
"Hmmm," Rigel replies, unable to get a word out from the tight hug.
I pull away and then glance up to see Rhea, standing by the doorway and staring at us.
Her eyes are clear and bright, a sign that she was fine being here and I held Rigel while walking to her.
"And mommy loves her favorite princess too."
My hug with Rhea is not as tight. Although she wasn't averse to physical contact because she wasn't high on the spectrum, I have been able to notice that she didn't handle it as well as Rigel did.
I place a quick kiss on her cheeks and then run my hands through her beautiful and bouncy curls.
After confirming that the both of them had breakfast already, I lead them to the nursery where the nannies and an educational instructor was waiting already.
I glance at my wrist to check the time to confirm that it was fine to do this.
Even though I wasn't looking forward to having breakfast with Declan, I couldn't escape it.
I needed to see the jerk. And settle this.
"Did you receive her file?" I asked the lady while my twins head inside the nursery.
The instructor nods and I heave a sigh in relief.
"All her quirks have been listed. She is usually just doing her thing, you can point things out for her and treat her as normal that you can, just make sure that you don't make her too uncomfortable or make her feel like she's different…"
I'm unable to help myself and end up rambling off instructions before finally asking for her name.
Juliet.
I stop by my room to grab her bag and then rush downstairs.
"Is someone trying to skip breakfast on their first day of work?" Mom asks as I walk past the dining room.
I'm surprised to see her by the door instead of inside the dining.
"Some emergency came up, I'll try to be back early for dinner…" I explain while checking the large wall clock from the corner of my eyes.
I still have about thirty minutes more to be at work on a regular day but today was different.
I needed to stop by and meet with Declan before going to work. Because after that, I would probably be swamped with work and reporters till my day ends.
"Hmm, we also want to talk about the cover of today's news, come on in."
Hearing her words, I know there's no way I'm getting out of this so I simply follow her.
Dad is seated at the head of the table with Axel, my first brother on his right hand and an empty space that is definitely for mom on his left.
Stefan is beside Axel and he winks at me as soon as I enter.
The support was definitely needed but I was also running out of time.
"I know you are curious, but I promise that I can settle this." I start immediately.
I am no longer the silly girl that couldn't make the right decision on who to fall in love with and who to marry.
Dad clears his throat, his eyes settling on me and I flinch a little.
"Dad."
"Did you sign the papers with him?"
I sigh, and then nod. "Yes, I did. Dad."
"Jamie has gone to work but he says that if you need anything at all, you just need to say the word."
"Also, Stefan would go with you today," mom adds from the side and my brows raise up.
"You guys need to start trusting me. I have done this for five years."
"Not in this city," Axel finally speaks and I groan.
"You should be supporting me." Axel dotes on me the most even though he was busy most of the time, but he is the most protective of my brothers.
Even right now, his eyes is filled with pampering but the helpless look on his face tells me I won't be getting my way.
"Okay, fine, he can come with me. But, we can't leave together."
"I don't want people thinking I need a babysitter," I add immediately and judging by the grin on their faces, it worked.
"Okay, I'll join you at work," Stefan says while standing up from the table and I lean forward to grab a toast before dashing off too.
As I step out of the house, my phone dings with a notification.
Declan— I'm waiting for you.
