Chapter 1 - Death and Rebirth

Some lil things to note before hand, this first chapter is pretty slow and his past is really glossed over because I want it to be morbid and a war torn world. Theres NO system in this book and he kinda naturally acquires sequence power because of convergence 😉 So if you know what that entails dont be spoiling too much. Enjoy my first chapter and hopefully come back for more.

1st POV

Dying is not cool, especially when its painful. My death was more than painful, it left me wallowing in despair, laying on a cold set of stairs in the winter with nothing around to bring you solace was heartbreaking. The feeling of your body going against your wishes and slowly devouring whatever it constituted unnecessary was a slow and dreadful way to go.

I was sent to war in 2033, my countrys greed for growth and industrialization had finally spiraled out of control; and with the recent advancments in technology no one could stop them. A country wide conscription was called to rally any able bodied persons, man or woman, to fuel there oil lusting crusade. I considered it an honor when I was first called to fight for my country, I envisioned myself bringing home honor and riches to my family.

However, reality is often cruel to the optimistic, I was just another cog in the machine. My blood is the lube that lets the machine of war crawl across the land of the living and my pain is the fuel that lets the war burn brighter. This war has made me realize that death is not the all encompassing evil I thought it to be, but instead it's a warm embrace I am all too excited to welcome.

As I close my eyes one last time I dream of my childhood, I dream of peaceful times, times where my worries where as fleeting as the weather and my greatest joys where the simplest ones. I close my eyes and hope not for another chance, but for a eternal slumber that would bring peace to my endless suffering on these o' so cold stairs to hell. And so I close my eyes and welcome death.

3rd POV

In a hospital in the perpetually gloomy hidden mist a woman of no prestigious background was giving birth, her labored grunts filling the room with noise. The doctor beside her calmly says "push and breath ma'am, your child will soon be born." this however seems to do nothing for the agitated woman. "arghhh, danm it! This fucking baby couldn't take any longer if it wanted to." the woman in pain couldnt stop cursing and pushing. "Just a short while longer ma'am." the doctor tries to placate her but it seems more like pleading the baby to be born sooner.

After repeated pushing for 2 hours the baby was finally born, the wet nurse cleaned it and cut the umbilical cord before giving the boy to the mother. As the baby was handed over the husband barged in, his violet eyes gleaming, looking at the baby in the womans arms. "He has the same beautiful eyes as you John." the woman loving said to her husband. "And black hair thats as mesmerizing as yours, Evelyn." the husband, now identified as John, replied with joy evadint in his voice.

"waaaa" The baby crying broke the loving couple out of their stupor and brought there attention to the baby. The bright violet eyes staring at them with tuffels of hair as dark as the night sky on the babys head. The mother, seemingly mesmerized muttered "Your name will be Sameul, Samuel Prince. For you will grow into a shining angel of our family." The husband had no objection and even believed that Samuel will be the best thing to happen to their family.

1st POV

Opening my eyes I see a strange couple looking at me with loving eyes, the woman with black hair and brown eyes was holding me while the man whith blond hair and violet eyes was standing next to her. They seemed to be saying something to me that I couldn't understand, so instead of understanding them, I looked around to notice I was in a hospital room with a wet nurse and a doctor standing off to the side. The sterile white lights were seemingly blindly to my newly formed eyes and I quickly shut them. The woman, whom I assume is my mother seems to notice and starts coddling me to try to bring me to peace.

Now that I had time to truly think, im quite confused as to the situation I seem to find myself in at the moment. Im a infant in a new place, with a new family, and in a new country based off the foreign language to me. For all I know this could just be some post death hallucination that im thinking up in whatever version of the afterlife I wound up in.

*rustle* My musings get interrupted by my mother who brings me close, what could this be for? O, shes taking her shirt down, I do guess this is what babies do, I may as well just roll with it for now. I open wide and clamp down on my moms boob, "Hmmm, not bad, I could get used to this." My mom holds me quite tight, almost as if shes afraid ill run away. "Quite the silly thought." I think, afterall im just a baby; but for now I close my eyes to sleep in my new mothers embrace and I just hope I havnt woken up in a foreign world.
