"Yes, I choose…"
"Wait did I just see Special Body Constitution?"
"Special Body Constitution it is, Young one," The old man said as the screen disappeared.
"Wait, I meant 2x Exp Gain not Special Body Constitution,"
"Sorry Young one but the decision as being taken,"
Everywhere Glitched Once more and returned back to normal.
"Congratulations on finalizing your avatar, young one. I wish you luck on your grand adventure." The old man said.
"Young one, know that whatever may happen on your journey, your decisions will determine it. Now off you go!" The old man added, with a big smile, before waving his arm, making the scene before Mammon fade away.
"Weird, I didn't even choose my class,"
In its stead, everywhere was filled with darkness as a large timer appeared in front of him. Only ten seconds remained on it, and he was happy to have finished his avatar with a few seconds to spare before the game launch.
As the final seconds ticked away, the decor changed.
The black made way for the light colors as the darkness around Mammon switched to a spectacular view of a bright new world.
He was floating over a continent in the world of Eden and could see the cities, mountains, forests, and other magnificent sights to behold.
*WELCOME ALL TO THIS NEW WORLD OF ADVENTURE CALLED EDEN. MAY YOUR FUTURE BE BRIGHT AND YOUR JOURNEY BE FILLED WITH THE BODIES OF YOUR FOES. LET THE ADVENTURE COMMENCE!*
Then his view changed again, spinning until he was settled in a cave, he noticed his surroundings and saw a lit lantern and couldn't see anything else apart from the small bed he was laying on.
"I guess it has finally begun" He said.
Mammon [Miles] got up from the bed and looked around, and from what he could gather, that was where he was supposed to live.
He looked at his interface, which was hanging at the edge of his vision, and it appeared fully before him.

He messed with the interface a bit to understand its functioning and made it to disappear and appear at will, as well as the map in the same way.
He decided to start exploring before he starts to lag behind. He decides to look around the cave to find something that could be useful to him. After searching for about a minute, he saw a small chest.
Upon opening it, he found some coins and a piece of clothing, which he changed into since the default clothes from his avatar creation were crappy.
Stepping out of the cave, he could see a bigger environment, which he could call a village, and from what his eyes could gather, there were around four buildings in the area, with one of them giving out sword-clashing sounds while the other was spewing black smoke.
He could hear from afar the voices of people talking in numbers around the village, sword clashing sounds, and the clanking of hammers on a metal.
From the looks of it, the old man was quite right about the disadvantage of being a half-elf, and he was quite disappointed he couldn't go back now, but he would not give up yet.
'I don't know why, but I feel that being a Half-Elf wouldn't be such a bad idea," he said as he walked closer to the village.
The game boasted of a class system with unlimited prospects, as one could combine and match skills as long as they had the skill point to form their own class.
There was also an option of choosing a pre-made class that could specialize, but that was for casual players, and he was not part of those.
He planned on creating his class so that he wouldn't be restricted in any way. He was wondering how this village could help with this.
'Well, I guess there is only way to find out.' he thought, shrugging as he walked on the narrow paths downward, towards the four buildings. He figured out that once he was there, he would know what to do.
At a point, he thought killing NPC's could help him in some sort of way, but he shrugged it off.
After walking a bit more, he finally reached his destination. The four buildings were a library, a kitchen-like structure, a forge from which the hammering noises were produced, and barracks, with a few swordsmen sparring.
A library sounded more like an abode of knowledge, so he decided to go there first. Upon reaching there, he received a pop-up saying, "Requirements to enter this building is not met by Player.". He just stood there perplexed.
He knew that something like this was meant to happen in the game, but he didn't expect it to be so soon. He knocked the door, and a voice sounded from inside.
"Who happens to be there?"
He wanted to say he was a player, but he remembered he was in a game and the NPC's wouldn't know, so he decided to say something else.
"I'm a fellow Half-Elf, and I'm new here so I'm still trying to find my way around here," He replied, trying to sound very respectful.
"This is a library and the residence of an old man, what do you want from me, Young One?"
"I wish for knowledge and guidance for my future, Wise one."
He didn't know which kind of person resided in the library and tried to sound very polite and respectful just to be on his good side.
"Enter Young One, I would help you to the best of my capability." The voice sounded as the door unlocked and opened itself.
Immediately a pop-up message appeared in front of him revealing, "Requirement to enter this abode is not met but Player as being granted permission to enter."
'Now we're talking.' He thought as he walked in slowly, taking in the surrounding sights.
Books and books everywhere as the wall shelves were full to the brim, tables and chairs full, with little space to walk around. He walked around carefully not to collide with anything that might anger the man.
He continued walking until he met a door with many books around with no space around, so he decided to turn around, thinking the man was somewhere else.
"Don't turn around Young one, come in," The old man sounded the room filled with books. Immediately the books made way for Mammon to pass through.
He walked in as the books continued making way for him to pass through until he saw a man sitting on a chair reading a book, not even raising his head once, as the books went back to their previous state.
Mammon waited patiently for the old man to finish what he was reading before saying anything at all.
After a while, the old man finished his page and slowly closed the book he happened to be reading.
"What is your repute, Young one?" He asked, his gaze locked on Mammon.
"Pardon?" Mammon asked, confused.
"Your name, what are called?" The man replied.
"Ahh, pardon me for my lack of knowledge. My name is Mammon, wise one." He replied, bowing slightly.
"And why do wish guidance from an old man like me, young Mammon?"
"I wish to embark on a journey, but I lack the knowledge and power to do so, besides, a book is not to be judged by its cover alone…" He paused to look at the old man's expression before he continued.
"And by that, I mean you, wise one, you may look old, but your knowledge will be unparalleled, and I wish to gain a bit of such knowledge."
"Ha ha ha, you make me laugh young one, but I will help you."
"Thank you wise one, I wish to gain a lot under your guidance."
"Do you wish to learn magic, young one?" The old man asked him.
"Yes I do, but I don't want to only embark on the journey of magic alone."
"I see, but before we get started, would you do something for me?"
"Yes, wise one. What is it you want me to do?" He quickly answered.
"Okay, I gave a swordsman a book of mine to use, and he hasn't returned it, so would you retrieve it for me? Do so, and I will teach you the parts and ways of magic," he said before a book levitated and settled on the man's hand as he opened it, going back to his reading.
"Also, when you get there, ask for Veylin Ember." he added as the books started making way for Mammon to pass through.
As Mammon turned to leave, he got a system prompt.
*Quest received: Fetch the old man's book of knowledge."
*Rewards: Opens up player's knowledge tree of magic; +5 reputation points with the old man.*
'Nice rewards," he thought
He smiled as he walked away.
'That boy is isn't normal; something seems off in him," the old man thought as he continued reading.
