Chapter 113 - Chapter 113: I choose to lie down

 "Hey, it's Kaguya-chan!"

Chika suddenly jolted awake and hastily pushed Amamiya away from her, realization hitting her hard. "Oh no, I forgot to turn off the livestream!"

Panicking, the pink-haired girl grabbed the phone lying beside her on the bed, only to find the video call still active. On the other side of the screen, Kaguya's figure was bathed in a menacing black aura that seemed to spill out from the edges of the video.

Too much.

This is way too much!

While Amamiya had intended to slip downstairs unnoticed, Chika had been too absorbed in petting him and hugging him to check the time. Now, Kaguya's expression was filled with palpable outrage, silently accusing her of unspeakable acts.

"Kaguya-chan, wait! Let me explain—" Chika began, but her words trailed off when she noticed Kaguya's wide eyes, as if she had just witnessed something horrifying. Her face turned an alarming shade of red. In a flurry of movement, the phone jostled in Kaguya's hands before the view shifted to the ceiling. It seemed the phone had fallen from her grip.

"Huh? What just happened?" Chika blinked, confused, before instinctively turning around to look behind her.

Her face immediately flushed a deep red.

"B-Big..." The words stuck in her throat.

Without another word, Chika quickly averted her eyes, clearly shocked.

It was terrifying.

So scary!

When boys grow up, their bodies become so... overwhelming, far from the cuteness they had as children.

"A-A-Amamiya-kun, put on some clothes already!" she squealed.

"Then give me something to wear!" Amamiya groaned in response, unable to hide his frustration.

Sighing, Amamiya looked over at Shimizu, who stood by with an amused smile. "Could you hand me the clothes?"

"Of course," Shimizu said cheerfully, retrieving the clothes that had been hidden earlier.

Amamiya grabbed them quickly and began dressing himself.

Meanwhile, Chika, still mortified, took her phone and shuffled over to the door, standing there quietly while facing the wall, reflecting on her series of mistakes.

"I'm dressed now," Amamiya said, finally exhaling in relief. "No more using the sheep transformation technique in real life, okay?"

"Hm," Chika muttered with a pitiful nod. "It worked perfectly in the game, but I didn't expect it to cause such trouble in real life."

"Good thing it was you, Amamiya-kun," she whispered, trying to recover from the embarrassment. "If it had been any other boy, I would have gotten an eye infection by now."

Amamiya gave her a disapproving look. "Haven't you read any 18+ manga before?"

"Manga is just fiction! I've never seen anything like this in real life," Chika stammered, her face turning beet-red again as she remembered the shocking sight from earlier. "...Hurry, Amamiya-kun, you should head home now!"

Amamiya didn't need any more convincing. He asked Shimizu to scout ahead, ensuring that Moeha was still in her room. Once it was clear, he swiftly slipped out and headed downstairs.

Thankfully, nothing unexpected occurred. Amamiya reached the front door without issue, changed into his shoes, and left the Fujiwara household.

"See you tomorrow, Amamiya-kun," Chika whispered softly as she waved goodbye.

Amamiya simply replied, "I'm not seeing you tomorrow."

"Huh?" Chika blinked in surprise before quickly realizing. "Oh, right. Tomorrow's Golden Week, so see you after the break!"

Amamiya gave a short wave before leaving.

---

The second day of Golden Week passed peacefully without any significant events.

Before he knew it, the third day had arrived.

Amamiya was fiddling with a new game called 'Black Myth: Wukong' when he received a message from Miko.

"Kyousuke wants to go to the zoo to see the pandas. Do you want to come along?"

"Zoo?" Amamiya typed back quickly, "Sure, let me change my clothes."

Golden Week was nine days long, and staying cooped up playing games the entire time would be too much. It'd be good to get out for a bit.

After turning off the TV and changing into outdoor clothes, Amamiya stepped out of his house. Waiting by the door were Miko and Kyousuke, both looking ready for a fun day ahead.

---

"Good morning, Amamiya-nii," Kyousuke greeted cheerfully. As Miko's younger brother, Kyousuke had inherited her lazy disposition from a young age.

"Good morning," Amamiya responded with a nod as he approached the siblings. Glancing at Miko, he asked, "Which zoo are we heading to today?"

Being a day off, Miko wasn't dressed in her usual school uniform or sports attire. Instead, she wore a simple white blouse paired with a brown skirt, complemented by black knee-high socks. Her long, straight black hair was unchanged, and the dark circles beneath her eyes were as prominent as ever.

"'Yawn...'" Miko raised her hand to cover her mouth as she yawned, her voice sluggish. "Ueno Zoo. Same one we visited last year."

"It's nine in the morning, and you're already yawning?" Kyousuke grumbled, eyes half-lidded with exasperation. "It feels like you're getting lazier by the day, Sis."

"True," Amamiya agreed, playfully adding, "You're so lazy you don't even bother to smile anymore."

"You're both so annoying!" Miko huffed, walking ahead with a glare. "Hurry up and let's get to the tram station."

The three of them continued walking, chatting idly until they arrived at the tram stop.

"Good morning, Miko-chan!" A cheerful voice called out, and a short-haired girl, wearing a white shirt that accentuated her curvy figure, waved from across the street. It was none other than Hana.

"Is Hana coming with us?" Amamiya asked Miko with a glance. "I thought she said she was going on a trip?"

"Her family's leaving tomorrow," Miko replied nonchalantly. "She just texted me saying she was bored at home, so I invited her to join us at the zoo."

A subtle, rhythmic sound reached Amamiya's ears—'puff, puff'. He didn't need to look to know the source.

Miko's best friend, Hana, quickly dashed over to them, her smile brighter than the morning sun. "Good morning, Amamiya-kun!"

"Good morning," he replied, watching as she raised her fists above her head and stretched, the movement full of energy.

"It's been ages since I last went to the zoo! Let's make it a fun day!" she beamed.

"Sis," Kyousuke tugged at Miko's sleeve and sighed softly. "I thought we agreed on a date today?"

Miko was left speechless. "It was never a date in the first place."

And besides...

She bit her lip, glancing around at the myriad of spirits lingering in the shadows of the street. She couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

What's the point of a date? Staying home and gaming is so much better.

They soon boarded the tram. As the doors closed behind them, Amamiya's eyes landed on a familiar face.

There, with waist-length dark grey hair, golden eyes, and a black collar adorning her neck, was Umi Kitagawa, a typical beauty. Her first button was casually left unfastened, and her manicured nails sparkled brightly.

"Good morning, Amamiya-kun!" Umi's face lit up, and she waved enthusiastically.

"Good morning," Amamiya nodded back.

"Come sit here!" Umi eagerly patted the empty seat next to her.

It being a holiday, finding empty seats on the tram was rare, so Amamiya obliged and sat down beside her. Miko took the seat on his other side.

"So, where are you headed?" Umi leaned in, her curiosity evident.

"We're going to the zoo," Miko yawned again, rubbing her eyes as she answered. "What about you?"

As classmates from junior high, it wasn't surprising they all knew each other.

"I was thinking of going to the zoo as well! The weather's so nice today, I figured I should go for a walk. Staying at home alone is boring, after all," Umi grinned brightly, her voice carrying an infectious energy. "Mind if I join you guys?"

"That should be fine," Miko shrugged.

With the tram now in motion, the group fell into a comfortable silence. Amamiya pulled out his phone and absentmindedly scrolled through the news.

Suddenly, as the tram swayed to the next stop, Amamiya felt a gentle poke on his arm.

"Amamiya," Miko's voice was low and serious. "There's a strange spirit that just boarded the train."
