Nine years later, the phantoms, the enigmatic beings from the abyss began their assault. The once desolate ashen wastelands, a barren gray desert where ash fell like snow and twisted spires of charred rock pierced the skyline, became the base of their operation for the invasion.
The phantoms, humanoid creatures cloaked in obsidian armour with an eerie purple aura, saught to breach human territory but found themselves thwarted. Their advance was held at bay near the scarred boundary. Leading the resistance was the Phoenix guild and their leader Kael Draven.
Kael stood tall at the frontlines leading the vanguard of players against the phantoms. He wore light weight white armour etched with runes designed for protection. Blue flames danced along his sword as he cut the waves of phantoms, his every strike leaving nothing but ash remains of phantoms.
The humans busy on the battlefield fought valiantly as they sought victory over the enemy's advance.
Meanwhile deep within the demon region , a clandestine meeting was taking place in the obsidian halls of the internal citadel, the castle of the demon king, Variel. He was a powerful demon among all the demons in the demon region who was comparable to a low rank god. He was the strongest being in this world as no one had reached godhood. He was the leader of all the demons in the demon region.
The infernal citadel was shrouded in a thick black fog and exuded an eerie and powerful aura. It was heavily guarded as it was the home of the demon king.
The demon king, Variel, a tall pale muscular man with black air and crimson eyes sat across the phantom general, morvash.
Morvash's form was humanoid exuding an otherworldly aura and an air of majesty as he sat across Variel. He wore crystalline obsidian armour that shimmered like a black opal. His eyes, glowing violet orbs were emotionless as he addressed Variel
"So you want us to help you wipe out all other races on this planet and help you attain true godhood, then you will give us manpower to conquer the realm of the god's and true demons of this universe, you say." Morvash said, his tone skeptical yet intrigued ,"How very amusing."
" Yes, that's the reason I summoned you here to this planet now , master."
Variel replied smoothly, his voice filled with respect and awe as he continued, "But first, we must eliminate the human they call Kael and his guild. Without them, the humans will lose all hope of fighting back . More importantly, I want to devour Kael so that I may ascend to true godhood before he can become a nuisance when he evolves into a god five years from now."
Morvash's lips curled into a smirk. "Is that really why you summoned me here, so that you may wipe out all the other races or is it that you want to evolve into a true god by devouring that human, Kael was it?, and his comrades and ascend to an evil god by devouring the other races of monsters and humans and I think my army is on the menu, right?"
Varel revealed a smirk. "As expected of my master. You knew everything. Even how I made the connection to the spiritual realm by increasing the spiritual energy of this planet using the forbidden technique you taught me."
Hearing this, Morvash replied, "Yes. I knew everything from the beginning. That's why I made the request to lead the invasion on this planet. You should have thought about what would have happened if I wasn't assigned to this mission. You could have been killed with the rest of humanity. So I'm only doing this out of pity so I'll help you with your plan. But I will be taking the lead to make sure that the plan is flawless." His expression then turned serious as he continued as he released his aura, making the demon king,Variel kneeling, "But remember this, if you think about betraying me once you obtain power I'll make you regret it. I'll make You feel true despair when you see that your power is pathetic and I will show you the limits of it as I will be crashing you."
At the battlefield, everything went smoothly as the humans emerged victorious against the phantoms that came in waves as time passed by. In a flash, the war between the phantoms and the humans, stretched into its third year as the humans were holding off the phantoms at the scarred boundary. Casualties remained few thanks to the relentless efforts of Kael and his guild with his ingenious strategies and leadership.
One day as the humans were battling another wave of phantoms, a terrifying aura covered the battlefield sending chills towards the humans.
"Is that the captain?" A phantom murmured to another as they were fighting.
"Sure feels like it." Another phantom responded.
The terrifying aura was getting closer to the battlefield at a steady pace.
From the horizon emerged a figure, clad in obsidian armour. His presence exuding authority and power as he made his way to the battlefield ignoring the other humans as he only approached Kael. His name was karnash, the fifth strongest subordinate of general morvash and was the captain in command of the troops.
He strode through the battlefield, both humans and phantoms were pushed back by his aura. Without so much as a glance, he ignored them all as he fixed his eyes on Kael who was killing phantoms with ease.
"Let's see…brown hair, golden eyes and very strong. You must be Kael Draven, right?" Karnash said. His tone cold but excited as he stopped a few feet away from Kael." My name is karnash, captain of the phantoms and fifth strongest under general morvash. I am here to kill you." He said, raising his longsword which emited a crimson light
Kael turned , his golden eyes narrowing as he sized up his opponent. "Oh, I see. So you're here to kill me. But it won't be easy as you thought." Kael said as the blade on his sword transformed to blue flames. His yellow eyes then turned green as he activated his skill.
[ Skill; Third eye has been activated]
[Sub - skill foresight is being used on the target]
[ Target has a higher level than player]
[ You can only see 20 seconds into the targets future]
The battlefield grew silent as Kael erected an isolation barrier which isolated them from the battlefield so as not to disturb the other fights.
Karnash moved first , his sword slicing through the air leaving a red streak of light as his strike was easily dodged by Kael who could see 20 seconds into the future. Then Kael launched an attack which met with karnash's blade. The clash of steel echoed like a thunder clap. Sparks flew as the two exchanged blows. Kael dodged karnash's strike and launched a barrage of kicks and punches sending Karnash flying.
Karnash, bloodied stood up and dusted himself, "What a strong attack that was,you are strong indeed. Stronger than anyone I've faced in this plane so far," he said," but not strong enough to stop me." He said as he launched himself towards Kael. But he was faster this time as he appeared and punched Kael. Kael barely dodged the attack.
He then raised his spiritual energy and mana. He began to a emit a green light as his mana and spiritual energy turned into armour.
The battle raged on, each strike shaking the ground and filling the air with the sound of clashing steel and roaring fire. Both warriors pushed their limits as their power collided. Then suddenly, Kael was sent flying by a kick from Karnash.
