"Caw!"
Let me translate this:
I am a newsbird.
Today has been quite good for business; I've sold a lot of newspapers, and the weather is sunny—truly a beautiful day.
After work, I must head to the dock for some fries! This is the pursuit of a bird's life.
"I'm the little newspaper seller…"
"Bang!"
Tomorrow and accidents, who arrives first is often unpredictable, but what's certain is that I probably won't get those fries.
Newsbird: "Caw!!!!!!!"
Kaito Sakamoto: "Ah!!!!!!"
...
In the forest, Garp and Luffy, the grandfather and grandson, walked along the path.
The older one dug his nose with his pinky, and the younger one did the same—ah, such a classic grandfather-grandson duo.
"Grandpa is a liar!"
"Didn't you say the forest has good food?"
"You kicked me off a cliff! Fought a wild boar! And that tiger—so big!!"
This was Luffy's accusation.
Garp's training of Luffy before handing him over to Dadan clearly showcased their close bond.
He had turned life-threatening situations into mere training, along with Luffy's willpower so strong it could shock Kaido and Big Mom.
Why fear fire? Because my will is strong!
"Hahaha!"
"Brat! Just admit that wild boar meat is delicious!"
"And what about that tiger? When you were my age, Grandpa, didn't you ride it around?"
Garp replied with a laugh; he certainly wasn't lying. In his childhood, he had been a fierce force in this forest.
Just thinking about wild boar meat made Luffy salivate. It really was delicious, without a doubt.
"Riding a tiger at my age? Grandpa's just lying!"
Luffy didn't believe Garp's childhood tales, but as he spoke, he noticed Garp didn't react. Little Luffy looked up.
That old man was dozing off, bubbles coming out of his nose.
Little Luffy was used to Garp's "quirks."
Waking him up was simple; if he wouldn't wake, just pop the bubble coming from his nose.
But before he could speak, he vaguely heard shouting from above.
"What's that noise?"
Luffy looked up and saw a person crashing down, a newsbird pinned beneath him.
"Ah!!!!!"
"Caw!!!!!"
"Bang!!!!!"
It hit Garp right on the head, producing a sound that echoed like a drum, confirming Garp's head was indeed solid.
...
People sleep on the road, while others fall from the sky.
Garp was sleeping soundly when he was suddenly hit, one of his eyes bulging out, as Kaito and the newsbird tumbled forward off his head.
"Who dares to ambush me!"
Garp awoke with a start, immediately on high alert. Anyone daring to attack him in front of his grandson must think his fists aren't strong enough!
But the "assassin" wasn't visible. Instead, he saw two creatures in front of him.
One was a child, and the other was a newsbird.
Both had swirling eyes, most likely having fainted.
"Grandpa, they suddenly fell from the sky and hit you."
Little Luffy kindly reminded him.
Garp nodded, "How could this kid fall from the sky?"
...
"Uh..."
Kaito Sakamoto slowly opened his eyes, his vision shifting from blurry to clear, revealing a wooden ceiling above.
"Where am I?"
A classic line after waking from a faint.
Kaito felt his body was incredibly heavy, as if a stone was pressing down on him. Moving even a little felt agonizing, like he was about to fall apart.
Using all his strength, he lifted his hands, which were wrapped tightly in bandages.
Tilting his head slightly to look around, the room was simple: a bed, a nightstand beside it, and a clock on the wall across from him. There was nothing else.
"Who is this kind person that saved me?"
Turning his head back, Kaito stared at the ceiling again. With nothing else to do while lying in bed, it was the perfect time to ponder life.
"That stupid system!"
Before he could even think about life, the voice of that peculiar system echoed in his mind, making Kaito grind his teeth in frustration.
"Half the conversation was cut off!!"
"I really appreciate your help, you weakling!"
"Copy Fruit? If it can replicate other people's skills and abilities, even Devil Fruit powers, then this ability is outrageous."
"And what's with the true name? Could this fruit be like Luffy's rubber fruit?"
"But the most important thing is, what's the third ability!!!"
For someone as obsessive as Kaito, it was absolutely maddening that the conversation was left half-finished and that he didn't know everything—truly a nightmare.
He tried calling out to the system in his mind a few times, but his voice seemed to sink into the ocean, receiving no response at all.
"Looks like that guy really got attacked by a virus."
"...Trash!"
"Let's hope it shows up again to tell me about the third ability."
Kaito prayed fervently; he was determined—if he didn't know what that third ability was, he feared he wouldn't rest in peace.
"Forget it; I'll just sleep a little longer. It's too painful to move right now; I'll see if anyone is around when I wake up."
Talking to himself, Kaito closed his eyes.
But it seemed like his eyes were a switch; as soon as he closed them, he heard—
"Bang!"
The door to the room was kicked open, bursting in like someone collecting a debt.
Kaito was startled awake, ignoring the pain, and turned to look.
An old man and a child entered his line of sight.
Though Kaito wasn't a devoted fan of pirates, if he didn't recognize Luffy and Garp, he might as well be looking at "the Pirate King"?
