Chapter 1 - Trolls

I jumped from the wide open window fleeing the scene at once from the ugly, strong troll trying to drink my blood in the full moon. I ran immediately as my foot touched the ground, going through random twists and turns not minding I was getting lost just as far as I could escape from the claws of the troll, but to no avail.

I heard the unholy noise of the troll not far behind me, 'how?' I asked myself as I turned back and at that moment I realized what a fool I was. I saw a trail of my own blood following me as I went on. I was injured by the troll on the arm and chest and the blood was leaving a trail, I couldn't even feel the cut as my mind was bound on escaping that I didn't realize I was still bleeding.

But both ways I didn't stop running and neither did I realize that I had left the dark, creepy forest and was in a small city I didn't recognize. I strained myself to run even more as I felt fatigue engulf me and I became dizzy. From my small years of learning medicine I realized my wound was infected. My mind soon came to realization. I had no escape, I was going to die. WOW. I didn't realize that I would die like this! In the hands of a blood thirsty troll, greedy for nothing but the gold that was in me. I don't even know what I am, and instead of a heart, I have gold. Was I even a human or a beast soon too mature? What was I?

I could walk no more and I came crashing to the floor, every bone in me was paralyzed as I saw the troll emerge from the woods and walked straight to my direction, laughing.

"I got you" he sang in a tone he assumed was full of melody but was actually full of the most terrible tune.

"You're gold would soon be mine." He continued

I knew I was going to die but at least I shouldn't die listening to this off key voice.

He came close to me and lay down next to my paralyzed body. He was so close that I could feel his breath on my face, I could see my eyes reflect in his mismatched eyes, red and emerald. And I could tell he noticed that my eyes were full of fear and annoyance. He laughed, stood up and kicked me and I let out a wild scream as all I could think of and feel was the new rising pain in me. He laughed.

"That'll teach you not to run away from a troll." He said disdainfully "Do you know how I had to run to catch up whit you? Huh? Do you?" he stopped as if wanting me to challenge him. I said nothing and he continued "You know, you are quite a speedy runner. I haven't felt this alive before after chasing a pray before. I think I might just have some fun with you before actually killing you." He started walking out to me.

I realized he was going to kick me again and I already felt like I was going to faint. Oh no! I can't faint. What will he do to me if I fainted, I tried to keep my eyes open but I could tell they couldn't stay that way for long.

He's leg was already in position to kick me when a strong unknown force made him crashing back, destroying the pavement as his body was sliding on them. Who was that? I asked myself but I couldn't care less at least who ever that is, was defeating the troll.

"Faeries?!" The troll's loud beaming voice echoed.

"Faeries?" I thought to myself, was I hearing it wrong or was the troll going crazy. But those thoughts stopped as I felt myself rising and I couldn't feel the hard pavement anymore but the wind blowing my curls here and there. The last thing I heard was a big loud BOOM and I blacked out!
