Synopsis

Chapter 0: A Second Chance

Author's Foreword

This story was born out of a desire to explore the concept of reincarnation as realistically as possible. Our protagonist, Ren, was a medical student in his previous life, with knowledge of the world of Naruto derived from reading the manga, the canonical novels, and the first chapters of Boruto.

As happens in reality, some details are blurred in his memory - after all, who among us perfectly remembers every detail of a story read years ago?

Unlike other reincarnation stories, Ren does not have access to Wikipedia or online forums to verify his memories. He must rely on his imperfect memory, which becomes increasingly blurry as time passes. This limitation is intentional and reflects the reality of how human memory works.

A New Beginning

I chose to start the story from the moment of Ren's birth, allowing him to experience this new life in its entirety. Coming from a problematic family background in his previous life, he sees this reincarnation as a true second chance, not just as an adventure in a fantasy world.

Why Kirigakure?

The choice of Kirigakure as a setting is not accidental. The Village of the Hidden Mist remains one of the least explored territories in the Naruto canon, offering greater creative freedom while maintaining coherence with the existing universe. Its insular nature and geographical isolation also justify the limitations in the available techniques, with a strong predominance of the water element.

Narrative Challenges

One of the greatest challenges in writing is the management of the chronology during the Third Ninja War, a period historically nebulous in the canon. The existing temporal discrepancies will be addressed in the chapters, trying to create a coherent narrative through a mix of logical deduction and creativity respectful of the original material.

The Bonds

The most important aspect of this story is emotional realism. The bonds that Ren forms are not simple relationships of convenience or instrumentality - they are deep and authentic connections, just like those we form in our real lives. His condition as a reincarnated does not make him immune to emotions or the consequences of his actions and choices.

This story is an attempt to explore what it might really feel like for a person to find themselves living in a world they only know through a story, with all the imperfections, challenges, and joys that entails.

I wish you the best experience!
