Liraeth stared wide eyes and swiftly jumped over the desk, creating some distance between herself and James.
The slight grin on his face while she had her heart racing unnerved her to no end. 'The fucker is toying with me.'
She may have not realized it, but what she was feeling at the moment was not actually fear but of shock from his sudden appearance in her private space.
Her initial attempt to escape through the window was from the fear of the unknown, but she somehow knew the person behind her desk.
"What do you want?" Liraeth's voice came out cold and emotionless, her brows furrowed in cautiously.
James simply shrugged without a word and moved to get comfortable. He sat in the chair Liraeth just vacated and placed both feet on the table in a relaxed manner.
The sight annoyed her, but she kept her distance. Even then, she knew it was pointless but did it anyway.
