Marcus's jog was interrupted by flashes of his dream, but he shook them off.
After sports and lunch, Jamie and Marcus were among the selected students called for a mysterious test.
"I passed!" Jamie exclaimed.
"What exactly did you pass?" Marcus asked.
Jamie grinned. "I don't know, I just like passing stuff."
Marcus chuckled and shook his head.
Inside the testing room, Marcus met Martha, a beautiful scientist.
"Please, get inside the glass box," she instructed.
Marcus teased, "You want to keep me as a pet?"
Martha laughed. "Maybe."
The test involved a gas, a blindfold, and a glowing, ethereal experience.
Martha's tablet displayed Marcus's time principle readings.
"Fascinating," she murmured.
After the test, Marcus felt dazed.
"What was that?" he asked.
Martha smiled. "You passed, Marcus. We'll explain everything later."
As Marcus left, he flirted with Martha, asking her out for coffee.
She laughed, pushing him gently. "Nice try, Mister Marcus."
Marcus grinned. "You didn't say no."
Martha shook her head, smiling.
Marcus returned to his room, feeling tired, and dozed off.
