Chapter 3 - Meeting of Destiny: Neil vs. Adam

I always feel in this beautiful

weather that I am exposed to an ambush of high beauty, so I must take the necessary precautions, for I am drowned in love with this weather.

The clouds race in the wide sky, and the sun behind them appears yellow and golden. In the sea, an eerie calmness prevails. It is a moment of atmosphere that is unparalleled, with the accumulating sound of the rustling leaves and the pure air blending in the morning stillness. Niel sat on a bench in his favorite garden, reading his mysterious book. He felt as if he were deciphering myths and secrets that were forbidden to be known by the state and society as a whole, written in the pages.

Everything you read in this forbidden and secret book is prohibited from being read by the state and the continent in general, and the punishment for the information you obtain if leaked, of course, is death and eternal unforgiveness. Niel, frankly, in his mind, expected this, yet he didn't feel the weight of these words. Instead, he focused on the lines describing seven continents, each unique in its powers and resources.

These notes were special, left by his grandmother. As he turned the pages, the book's content, half of which, described many continents other than ours, revealed that the seven continents were all distinct, with each one having its own name. Our continent, as you know, is called Gaia, while others lie to the north, called Astria; in the south, Lanos; to our east, Columbus; and Tesla, in addition to Vatican and Sigywara. Each has its own power system, meaning every fighter possesses the power and characteristics of the continent they were born in, and crossing between continents is forbidden, except for the sacred knights, of course, and there are only three of them, and perhaps the king as well. Nobody, not even the elite knights, knows much about these details. Could there really be people in these continents? What is the nature of their powers? And why are the people forbidden from knowing them?

Damn, this seems so amusing.

There are also meetings between kings from time to time, though Niel doesn't know the details. When he reached the section about how to become a sacred knight, a beautiful and captivating girl appeared. Niel looked at her. Her long white hair and bright eyes seemed almost hypnotic. Niel didn't show any signs of surprise.

Niel found it strange that someone living in this particular area had such a rare appearance. The girl asked him about the school's location because she had recently transferred. Niel calmly pointed her in the right direction, feeling a bit late due to his engrossing reading. He guided her quietly and then resumed his reading.

However, leaving the book behind became necessary because of time.

He began to run toward the school, thinking that he would train as he always does,

for he is at a level where they call him the "miracle child." Upon arriving at the school,

he faced the teacher's angry gaze as she usually asks why he is late. This time, she asked seriously. "Why are you always late? What are you doing?" Niel answered truthfully this time, as he often tells a lie that he was reading a book.

The teacher then announced to the students two pieces of news. The first was that there would be a combat competition among them, which surprised Adam, while the rest of the students were excited. The second piece of news was that a new student was joining the school. The girl with the white hair entered, her enchanting magic still lingering. She introduced herself as Krista Vlenz. All the students were surprised except Niel, as he had met her before, and he suspected she would be in his class due to his sharp intelligence and insight. Then Krista sat down, and the teacher began the history lesson. Adam, as usual, was uninterested, while Niel already knew what the teacher would say due to his extensive reading, so he was eagerly waiting for the class to end, ready for the fight and to finish the rest of his book.

Meanwhile, on the western side of the Ever region, two individuals had arrived to complete a task. Yes, the same mysterious and dangerous individuals who had appeared before and belonged to a certain organization. This time, the first person was masked with a laughing face, while the second had a cold, emotionless face with white hair. He appeared to be about twenty-five years old. The masked man said, "This will be fun. Let's finish it." The second person coldly replied that he was not here to take orders. The masked one chuckled, saying, "Okay, okay, you're so boring and gloomy. Laugh a little."

Back at the school, the combat competition began. Niel was excited at first, but soon realized his classmates were incredibly weak as the battles progressed. When his turn came, he awaited his opponent. Krista, who wasn't participating, watched silently and attentively. The draw came, and he was to face Ethan, the mysterious character. His excitement returned, and he began to prepare. He wondered about Ethan's strength, the son of Marie, known as the Brave Warrior, and why he didn't defend himself when the kids attacked him that day. Many questions filled Niel's mind about Adam.

With the start of the match, in the blink of an eye, Niel delivered a direct punch to Adam's stomach, to the astonishment of Teacher Carla. While the punch made Adam bend over, he showed no signs of weakness. All he did was appear uninterested in the battle. However, Niel remembered when he used to train with his father, Andre. But he thought the person was someone else, with blurred memories of his father's features. His father had taught him how to face someone stronger by targeting a specific point in their body, focusing all his strength on it.

He wondered, "Why am I remembering this? Is that blonde man strong? Or do I just have a curiosity to test this attack?" It was truly annoying. Carla, noticing Niel's insane speed, thought that he might be suited for the lightning element, but that was impossible because the lightning element was the domain of someone who lived in a neighboring village known as the Speed King, named Volt.

Adam stood up and thought to himself that he was thirsty not just to defeat Niel but to kill him. Niel rushed again and hit him with a punch to the face, but this time it didn't affect Adam. In that moment, Adam rushed forward, throwing numerous punches, but Niel dodged them, astonishing the onlookers, as they had never seen Adam fight with such ferocity. Niel kicked him away, and Adam thought that he didn't have the talent or experience to fight him, but he was trained perfectly and physically sharp.

Niel wondered, "Should I use the magic I've been training to master? No, not the time. I'll just enhance my body." In this world, magic is used for enhancement and direct attacks, creating an aura visible to others. He decided to use it. Suddenly, Adam appeared behind him and delivered a swift punch. But Niel jumped, grabbing his arm and landing a quick kick to Adam's face.

Carla looked very worried, but at the same time, she was intrigued by how this battle would end. Adam quickly backed away, while Niel analyzed his fighting style, finding it interesting.

But Niel knew there was still a long way to go to match him. Adam prepared his final punch, with a weaker aura due to his lack of development and talent. Carla thought of Niel as a prodigy for entering a body-enhancement state. They charged at each other, and this time their punches collided, titled "The Indifferent Boy vs. The Miracle Child." The fight ended with Niel as the winner, though Adam was slightly knocked out from the powerful final punch.

For the first time in this story, the hero fell.

A heavy silence filled the air. The spotlight shone on a small child with extraordinary talent, standing confidently in the center of the ring, his eyes sparkling with innocence mixed with exceptional determination. The onlookers were stunned, and one of the managers wondered about the future of this fierce young fighter. In Niel's mind, he thought, "I really enjoyed this fight, even though I didn't use all my power," and he announced his withdrawal from the competition.
