"This is so unfair," Seth grumbled.

"Why am I the one shouldering all the costs? My mana pool is supposed to be connected to the dungeon, but somehow it's like I'm getting the short end of the stick. I'm running a charity for the dungeon!"

Zera's voice chimed in his mind, calm and as condescending as always.

["It's not a charity, Seth. You're the Dungeon Master. The dungeon thrives off you, and you thrive off the dungeon. That's balance."]

"Balance?" Seth scoffed.

"You call this balance? I'm out here freezing my butt off and running on fumes while the dungeon lounges around with reserves to spare."

["Perhaps if you strategized better, you wouldn't find yourself in these predicaments."]

"Gee, thanks, Zera. That's helpful."

She then fell silent, leaving Seth alone with his thoughts.

"Uh… Zera, I gotta know, how long is this summoning going to last? Because I'm not sure I have anywhere to hide a six-foot-tall bird."
