The transition was seamless, and when Seth stepped out into the new atrium, his breath caught for a moment.
It was unlike anything he had ever seen in a dungeon before.
The previously tight and claustrophobic corridors were gone, replaced by a grand, open space.
The ceiling arched high above him, supported by sleek stone columns.
Natural light.... well, something that looked like light filtered down, giving the whole place an ethereal glow.
Alcoves lined the walls, each one casting shadows that shifted in a way that would disorient any intruder.
But more than that, there was an undeniable elegance to the design.
Every trap, every false path, every hidden mechanism was so subtle that it felt like part of the architecture itself.
To the untrained eye, this place was a peaceful, almost regal mansion.
But Seth knew better.
The whole place was a weapon.
He glanced back at Zera's control panel, still floating nearby.
"Zera, is this... magic? Or tech?"
"Both," she answered with a light chuckle.
"Magic has a way of blending into the environment here, but I believe you are sensing a technological similarity from your past world.
You'll find that the principles are not so different."
Seth nodded slowly, taking it all in.
He wasn't just an Architect of the dungeon anymore.
He was a conductor, orchestrating a symphony of death and deception, all with a thought.
[System Notification: Dungeon Restructuring 100% Complete]
[Hidden Mechanisms Activated]
[False Pathways Online]
[Decoy Chambers Ready]
[Boss Levels Operational]
[Current Mana Reserves: 0/1000]
[Regeneration in Progress...]
Seth stood in silence for a moment, his hand brushing the wall as if testing whether it was real or not. It was solid enough, but the sheer scale of what had been accomplished left him speechless.
"Thank you, Zera," he said quietly, feeling the dungeon hum in response.
He wasn't alone in this anymore.
With Zera by his side, the dungeon was alive, and ready for the next wave of intruders.
"Pull up the dungeon status" Seth said as a screen immediately popped up.
'That was fast' he thought but she suddenly replied
[Dungeon Status:]
[Dungeon Rank: C+]
[Core Integrity: 100%]
[Mana Output:]
[Current Base: 200 mana/hour]
Temporary Boost: 400 mana/hour (5 hours remaining)
Mana Vein Extraction Efficiency: 2% permanent increase (Effective after boost)
Mana Reserves: (5/1000)
[Current Traps:]
Hidden Traps: Embedded within dungeon walls and floors, blending into the architecture for maximum surprise and lethality.
Pitfalls & Collapsing Floors: Active, highly mana-efficient traps scattered across new chambers.
Illusory Pathways: Designed to confuse and disorient intruders, causing them to fall prey to other traps or get lost.
[Summons & Guardians:]
Greater Shade (Guardian): A Tier 4 Summon Tied to the direct improvement of the core
Dark Flame Wraith: Active Tier 4 Summon. One of the bosses.
Other Boss Creatures: Positioned within newly constructed chambers.
[New Features:]
Environmental Control: Ability to manipulate internal and external weather-like conditions, including fog thickness and visibility to disorient intruders.
Dungeon Lore Integration: Grotesque murals and incomplete stories meant to confuse invaders, creating a psychological barrier.
Architect's Command Center: Fully upgraded control interface allowing Seth to monitor and control the dungeon's operations with ease.
.....
"Zera"
"Would it be possible to currently upgrade the capacity of Mana Reserves?"
"No... But it would be possible to make subsequent secondary Mana conduits and Mana absorption defenses"
"At what cost?"
"Temporarily increase of Mana vein output by 2%"
"It seems you already have a plan, run me through."
"I call it the Mana safeguard protocol."
Mana conduits Function: The secondary mana conduits act as a network for managing and siphoning mana from the mana veins.
They ensure the dungeon has a backup reserve for emergencies, allowing the dungeon to maintain defenses even if primary mana sources are disrupted.
You can install a maximum of 3 mana conduits at your current dungeon rank.
These conduits connect to different sources (e.g., the dungeon core, mana vein, or ambient mana fields).
Each conduit is a temporary upgrade, but can be made permanent as you grow stronger.
[Costs:]
Initial Cost: Each mana conduit costs 100 mana to set up and will have an upkeep cost of 10 mana/hour.
Temporary Boost: The conduits increase mana draw from external sources by 2% temporarily (up to 3 conduits for a 6% boost).
Permanent Mana Draw: If permanently integrated after upgrade, they offer a 1% permanent boost each.
Meaning; while the conduits are siphoning Mana your Mana regeneration tops up to 1600/hour and reserves temporarily increase to 4000.
Note that this is an accumulation of all secondary conduits, in essence you still regenerate 400/hour as long as its above 3000/4000.
[Mana Absorption Defenses:]
Function: These defenses allow the dungeon to absorb hostile mana-based attacks.
Instead of relying solely on physical traps, the dungeon can convert offensive spells or abilities into defensive energy, replenishing Seth's mana or boosting dungeon defenses.
[Costs:]
Initial Setup: Absorption defenses cost 150 mana to activate.
Efficiency: For each absorbed mana-based attack, 25% of the attack's energy is siphoned to the dungeon core.
The rest is used to enhance the dungeon's defenses temporarily.
Note that it only needs to be activated once and passively used.
"So I need 250 Mana to start setting these up? And my mana reserve are rock bottom, if I regenerate 400 Mana per hour presently, that would mean 200/30 minutes and 100/15 minutes so why is my reserve still at 5 " seth asked
"Would you like your Mana to be regenerated per 15 minutes?" Zera replied
"Is it bad?"
"No, it's versatile but not recommended, though do note that Mana cannot be directly processed and transfered to be stored in the core yet."
That answered his question and Zera sounded different slightly but it was understandable that he sounded a little selfish.
"I understand, do what's needed when necessary " He replied but what he heard next shocked him
"I took the privilege to analyze the previous encounter with It " Zera said
"Anything I should know" Seth replied coldly
"Yes, it seems there is a connection drawn from the priest, to the sigil to its ability to devour..."
Seth didn't understand where this was going but wasn't it obvious what she was saying? Besides he deduced that much.
